I havent checked and Im not by the cabinet at the moment... when i get back I'll check. would the spring not still act on it though? at the moment the rod just floats in and out fairly freely.

I think one of the srings might have gone in my silver pigeon s. :o B) With the barell removed one of the rods at the front of the reciever, at the bottom, appears not to be sprung but the other is. I assume this is not right??? if so is it simple/expensive to fix? also is it safe to shoot with? any info would be great. cheers i would post a pic but dont have a camera to hand...

I'm no expert but it could be that the carburettor is not set correctly/needs a thorough clean. I think its sounds like its running lean (Hot) and therefore burning out. If it was rich it would be getting charred up. Im sure someone else on here is more knowledgable than I am but might be worth a look...

To my mind this is the problem with multi choke guns! with fixed choke you have no choice, therefroe you dont worry about it.....

I have only shot using a magnet a handful of times. It is more challenging shooting using a magnet because as stated above birds getting in close to the magnet tend to veer off fast. they pull birds in amazingly well tho. Next time im gonna have the magnet closer to my hide so pigeons are well within range before they get to close to the magnet....

Im in that boat to.... Had a rediculous day out on monday. Not a breath of wind but a hard frost. Blue sky and the sun blindingly bright. Everything was against us.... But we had some amazing sport the woodies were coming in all morning. Prob had the magnet a bit far out and we were pushing it a bit with some of the shots! End result a heap of cartridges (empty) and 34 birds between three of us. I shot the highest bird I ever shot, and probably the longest going away bird too. Missed a shed load but had fun!! thinking about it prob put £10 -£15 quid of cartridges through. Thats nothing for a top day out!!! Keep going and remember to enjoy it dont worry about stats!!

Ive been thinking about getting a couple of bouncers so that was quite interesting to read.... I was advised that nowadays because pigeon rotarys have been around a while birds are wisened to em. and bouncers can be more effective.... so ive been thinking bouncers befroe i buy a rotary. Do people agree? Any other recomendations about bouncers or which bouncer to go for?

I see where youre coming from... the eggs taste way better if the hens are genuinely free range, and i dont mean access to a bit of outdoors, i mean free range!! Ours still get shut in the coup at night... last year mr fox had the audacity to maul a chicken right by the house around midday! Prime candidate for the same treatment me thinks!!! Just my opinion...
