Got to the shoot at 6.30 and set up the hide,birds were on the move already. once the first two birds were down i got them on the magnet,this was to the right of the hide,(Dont normally have much luck with the magnet,but it seemed to work very well today) a view from the hide to the left, 73-shot and 48-picked up,a good days shooting,and then the heavens opened,so i called it a day,BB

Bisley magnums are a little on the heavy side ,better suited to Fac rifles i find.BB

Some good answers,but youve all missed the most perfect job?surely its to become a politician,all them claims,sit on your **** all-day,and answer to no one? But on a more serious note,I started a new job 28 mths ago,and its pretty perfect to me.I work for 4 days then get 4 days off,get 38 days paid holidays per year.Where i work is overun with rabbits,and can use the company toyota hilux to drive round and shoot them(whilst im at work)and they purchase all my ammo for me,they provide a 4x bedroom house for me,which costs me less than £100 a month in rent,and a garage.And pay for my fuel to work and back home,so as far as perfect jobs go ,i think my job is, perfect for me,and ive already got a full pension in the bag at 41,they only downside was i had to do 23 years hard graft,away from home a lot to get the perfect job :blink: BB

I use 30g/32g loads and get clean kills most of the time,however when i need to dispatch a bird,i use a priest which i made from an old snooker que,seems to do the job nicely,never had any complaints,dont tend to double-barrel them,with the present cost of cartridges BB

Gamebore clear pigeon mate,good cartridges for the money,ive used these for a long time and never had problems with them BB

If your looking for something different that wont break the bank,go into your WH Smiths they do adventure day packages,hot air ballooning,drive a tank,racing car that sort of thing,and you can book when suits you,maybe when the kids are at school! i think they even do clay shooting(but can you get away with that?)worth a look mate.

Believe me i do sympathise,but surely this is for the PSNI to sort out,im not sure locals taking the law into there own hands will solve the situation

I agree some who decide to settle here for whatever reason,seem to get looked after better than ourselves,but at the end of the day to persecute women and children aint gonna solve anything,and i very much doubt they would go to this extreme,just for the cameras.In my opinion live and let live,we are all human(well most)and should act as such,and show a little compassion to those less fortunate than ourselves.Believe me we might think we are hard-done by in this country,but we aint doing too badly compared to some countrys around this world of ours BB

i believe theres one in Brookwood cemetry,one in Pirbright camp(Maidstone hill)someone on here will have more info,on shoot dates prices etc,but the one i use is in Gibraltar bks Yateley 70 bird sporting layout £12 a round,you aint gonna fine much cheaper,shoots first sunday of the month from about 10am,and every wednesday afternoon from 5ish,cartridges available,and club guns available,good relaxed shoot,and not much further than Bisley BB Theres also one on the back road between Pirbright-Mytchett,shoots on military land,i think its called Rockers and shoots every other sunday,like i say someone on here will have more info on it,good luck

The injection is spot on mate very very good,but most doctors wont give it!! i heard on the radio today-they estimate 60% of the worlds population will suffer from hayfever by 2060 (dont think i will still be suffering by then) its due to global warming apparently ,and the extension of the pollen season

73m shooting rabbits,with an air rifle? thats some distance,woudnt personally entertain it myself,and yes its 3-4ft lb strike energy at the receiving end(head shot)but at that range are you confident taking consistent shots?? BB- You have done the right thing by checking it over a chrono,and locking it away,get it back to the gun shop asap and get them to sort it for you!

Went out on the crows again yesterday,set up the hide and put the decoys out,not many coming in at first,but plenty about,then i put a couple of strings of crow-bangs out to try and flight them towards my decoys,a few came in but no where as many as last year at this time?they seem a lot more switched on this year,or just getting use to us shooting them,they dont respond to a magnet with crows on,i seem to be having more look with a floater in the pattern will keep on trying different things,but believe me when they lift the sky is black with them. BB The ones in the photo are the ones i found,i shot another 10 but these fell into the nettle beds,and i thought best left.
