  1. made these last night from 3mm fibre board cut with a jig saw. i took stencils for the wings and body of a big crow i shot the other day, made up a tail then painted them in a matt black. just letting the attchment point for the floater dry and then they should be all done. il upload a final picture of what they look like on the floater. didnt worry too much about the underneath just gave that a coat with spray paint. all in all these have cost me £4.75 for both, £3.50 for the fibre board from home base and £1.25 for the matt black from home base (just used a tester pot, it did 2 coats). i will let you now how they produce in the field, last time i shot 7 crows and i only started off with pigeon decoys, hopefully these will bring in a few more going to make some wings for my pigeon shells as well. here is the picture on the floater
  2. welcome to pigeon watch

  7. i have just managed to secure 2 new permissions today, one is only about an acre or two but good for rabbiting and air gunning, but is way too close to houses and a main road for a shotgun. but the other is on a small farm which has a massive rookary near bye and the fields of cut grass are coverd in crows, and there are plenty of pigeons about. it boarders a few houses, some more fields and a road. i was wondering what the rules were dictating how far away you have to be from roads and houses when firing a shotgun and a .22 rifle? obviously i am not going to firing towards the buildings or raods but does any one no the laws? cheers for any help
  8. hello welcome from eastsussex

  10. ive got a bit of the same problem, im shooting over lots of barley, wheat and OSR but its all new and none of it has realy gone flat. there are lots of patches about 3-4 inches high around the edges of the fields were the rabbits have made some dents in it but im finding it hard, to really bring the birds in. are magnets and floaters the best options with just a couple of decoys in these clared areas?
