  9. I have narrowed it down to two choices Sako Quad and Anshutz 1517 Its to be used for rats, bunnys, squirrels, hares and maybe crows at distance the Sako is a bit bigger and heavier but looks the business with 22" barrel Anshutz is lightweight, German precision & build, 18" barrel Both have threaded barrels and 5 magazine carts. Bloke in the shop said the sako suited me as i'm 6'4" tall and it looked proprtional I dont really like the smaller 14" barrel rifles so i am going to choose one of the 2 above, just need some opinions please as i really cannot decide. (If i took the sako i would not bother with any other barrel just the 17HMR one) Many thanks in advance
  10. I was really intending to use it as crow, squirrel and rat killer through day and bunny killer at night so i thought it would be a good allrounder and mag would be sufficient.
  11. went to a gunshop yesterday and the bloke behind the counter was just a complete condasending ***, treating me like an idiot. Anyway i wont buy anything from him on principle now even though he had what i wanted. I already bought a good Leupold 4-12 X 40 scope, but he said it would be no good on 17HMR as the zoom would not be adequate. Is this correct or is he talking pants. If he is correct what type of scope would i really need. Thanks

  19. Just a quick note to say hello to you all, just joined forum this week and still trying to figure everything out. Based out of Leicester and been clearing pigeons, rats and rabbits for a couple of years now. I have 2 shotguns, browning 525 o\u and Browning sporting clays semi auto which is brill for pigeons, not sure why its called sporting clays. Going through motion to get a FAC for a rifle so i will need plenty of rifle buying advice very soon as i kow nothing on the subject. regards
