  1. Pond Took my Springer with her new neoprene shooting jacket. They really do work. Last season she was getting very cold sat on the bank and haing to do retrieves at the end of all the excitement for her but now she sits on the bank happily and doesnt mind as much going into the cold water. If youve got a dog i recommend buying one if you dont aleady have one
  2. Thanks for the tip Chris I will try that on my next outing
  3. Nice shooting Sunday Fox Drive, sounds good. What you should do is put 2 or 3 heavy cartridges in a seperate pocket and when you do see a fox, if you have time, change cartridges and choke barrel the bloody thing. Are the foxes getting in your pens and killing some birds or do they just hang around certain drives ?
  4. I have had a pigeon magnet for a year now and i still cant decide if they work or not. I find they bring pigeons around to have a look but never close enough to have a shot and be confident in hitting it. I have tried several different ways of using it e.g. changing he speed of it or changing its location in the decoy pattern but it still hasnt made the pigeons come in. Does this happen to anyone else ? Cheers
  5. Ive seen that clip in James Douglas' video "The Wildfowler". That was atleast 10 years ago Great video anyway. Looking forward to seeing the next one.
  6. For a waterproof jacket i have got a Red Head camo. It is very reliable and it hasnt failed to keep me dry after the 4 years of having it. The only thing is that if your going to be shooting on the mud you wont really want to get them dirty because you cant machine wash them otherwise they will shrink. Maybe the right choice is a nice warm jacket and a reasonably priced waterproof to go over it. good luck
  7. My first day was good and bad. . . . . . . . . . I shot 3 nice pheasants but others were shooting alot of very low birds almost plucking them well enough to start cooking it We ended up with 167 Pheasants, 1 Woodcock and a pigeon. Hopefully next time it wont be such a slaughter !!
