  9. The Remington 700 PSS is the same action and barrel as the REM 700 VLS and VS all have 26 inch heavy varmint barrels just different stocks,I have rem 700 VLS in .243 and changed the stock to a HS precision and they are very good stocks and have a bedding block in them they sell for around £150 second hand, you would be looking at around £1000 for a new 700 PSS and they come in .223 and .308 they stopped doing them in .243 york guns had a few in 5/6 years ago in from the police going cheap.

  13. The remington 700 has got to be the most copied action in the world that must tell you some think. I brought my first 700 BDL in 1993 from the shooting lodge in Yorkshire sent my certificate to them to have it put on then they sent it through the post to me paid £425.00 a very good accurate rifle and served me very well, the last rem 700 I brought was about 7 years ago and I don't think it was as good as the first one but after fitting tubbs firing pin and spring and changing the stock to a HS precision and a bit of work on the trigger it's now used as my main fox/vermin rifle, I also have a few tikka's 595's and M55 but the remington gets used the most.
  14. N133 for me good performance great accuracy, good clean burning powder.
  15. when using 87gr heads in a .243 you will get better results using powder a tad slower then varget like vit 160,H4350,R19, I use 45.5 of H4350 with 87gr heads and get 33oo+ FPS with great accuracy, you will always get a more consistent powder burn with a fuller case of powder.
  16. when I was running a .22/250 my load was 36.5gr of vit 140 and 50gr nosler BT seated 40 thou off the lands norma brass and federal match primers, accuracy was very good clover leaf groups, I used this same load in 3 .22/250 over the years and all performed very well.
  17. been using the 58gr v-max in my .243 for a few years and never had one get up or needing a follow up shot, the load I use is fully prepped lapua brass federal match primers 45.5 gr of R15 and 58gr v-max sent at 3900 fps and groups into 3/8 at 100 yards and then I can change to the 87gr v-max and shoot to the same poi, the 58gr v-max are also very good on crows blowing them into 5 or 6 pieces.you must have a bad batch of bullet heads.
  18. Thank you for your reply's there are two lads going to have a look, if I get to know of any other shooting going I will put it on here. many thanks wayne.
  19. fox shooter wanted for a small area in Dove holes near Buxton.as the owner is having trouble with foxes taking hens and Ducks I've been there a few times and shot two foxes each time I've been but it's around 100 miles round trip for me and don't have the time as there are to many local farmers needing me at the moment.ideal for some one local to that area.
  20. 12 bore leather cartridge belt brass buckle 2 inches wide fits waist 36" to 43" good quality and condition, can e-mail photo's £20.00 posted.
  21. had them in all conditions full moon frosty still nights, rain, snow, the only nights I try to avoid are very windy nights as this makes the foxes very jumpy and twitchy, things blowing about in the the wind frightens then and they don't hang about, the worst nights for the lamper are fogy nights a total waist of time.
  22. been using .17 rem for 11 years and it's taken a fair few foxes over the 200 yard mark I use 25gr burgers sent at over 4000 fps and groups around 1/4 inch at 100 yards also used the 20gr v-max sent at 4400 fps groups the same as the bergers. all in all a good little round.
  23. I order from Sinclair's and have it posted to my sister in law and when we go over I bring it back in my suit case. saved a fortune over the years doing it that way.
