  1. That testicle hanging out was SO funny! It's been a long time since television managed to shock me, haha! I LOVE The Inbetweeners!
  2. Holy ****! That's an awesome haul, good job!
  3. Someone needs to tell those protector tube manufacturers that making them out of recycled carrots is asking for trouble

    Stress

It's all relative though. Think about child birth: two mothers with very similar labour, one loves her child unconditionally the other suffers from severe post-natal depression. Both their experiences are the same so, by your logic, both mothers should love their children. Everyone reacts differently to situations. Having been through severe depression I know what this stuff can be like. I actually suffered with it for two years and nearly lost everything and, you know what? One of the reasons I didn't go to the doctors' sooner was that when I spoke to a few friends, they just said things like "everyone feels like that sometimes" and "you just need to snap out of it". It's really not helpful and I tried everything I could to get out of it by myself. After a few trips to the doctors', a brief stint on antidepressants and some councelling, things got a lot better and now I feel on top of the world. All of this came about through stress of things occuring in my personal life. I wasn't in a war, but this was still real. If one person smokes 700 cigarettes a day for twenty years and gets lung cancer, and then a child who's never been near smoke gets lung cancer, will you tell the kid that his cancer isn't real? Hope you have a nice day!!

    Stress

That's true, but I think that might be why there was less stress for our parents. Because they had the threat of bombings and the war hanging over them they all had to join together to make ends meet (joint vegetable patches, air raid shelters etc) whereas nowadays we live so comfortably that we have time to sit and stress about things that really aren't important. I honestly believe that the internet (ironic that we're all using it now) has actually made people less happy: everyone can easily see all these rich and famous people having, what seems like, an amazing life full of riches beyond our wildest dreams whereas we're all in jobs we probably don't like very much earning an amount that we probably don't like very much. It's given us all impossible aspirations and unachievable, pointless goals. Our parents just wanted to be happy, tend their gardens, meet with their friends down the local and not get blown up. They had it right!
  6. I read about that today. I can't help but feel that there's a lot more to this than meets the eye. As she refused to be breath tested she may have been drunk and perhaps physically abusive to the police officer before entering the station. I'm in no way saying that what he did was excusable (it was absolutely awful), I just think that he probably didn't mean to hurt her like that and she probably provoked him. If you look at how she fell as well, she could have put her arms down to stop herself face-planting the floor, but maybe she was absolutely hammered. I dunno, just my 2c!
  7. Holy ****! That's going on my "scared of" list, for sure!
  8. I really need to quit. Just walking to bed gets me out of breath and have me lying in bed as if I've just had a light jog... it's crazy considering how fit I used to be. Coupled with the fact that my dad, my dad's dad and my dad's dad's dad all died of emphysema should really be enough of a shock for me to quit! Good job to all those that have quit: I'll be joining your ranks this time next month. 1st October, I've set the date, bought all the patches and gums... it's going to happen! I'm going to stick those pictures off the baccy pouches over the house too... for some reason it's that photo of the gent with no teeth that really hits me the hardest (me? vain? )
  9. Yes, me too! It's that weird squeaky texture it has... whenever I see it I just imagine what it would feel like to bite it... arrghhhhh, it sends shivers down my spine! I really do think I need to get out more
  10. Number three gets my vote! The negative space effect of the building against the night sky looks excellent!

    big school

Just don't wait out in the car all day... that's what my mum did when I first went to big school all those years ago. I was mortified when I went for break time and she was waving from the car, haha! Bless her
  12. This phone looks great! I've never been a big fan of the Apple iPhones because so many people rave about them (and as my late father used to say "never trust a raver", although today that really has a much different meaning haha) before they get them and then realise they don't live up to the hype. I want one of these galaxy-s but worry I'm not going to get any decent internet, or whatever it is it has, in deep dark Kent
  13. Hi! I'm new too! I've been racing pigeons for a few years while my friends have all thought I was mad because they'd rather shoot them, haha! Now I've started hunting with them and going for rabbits and pheasants mainly, and I love it! Hope to learn more here so that I can get all my own equipment and not have to rely on them all lending me theirs
