  1. I also wouldn't be surprised if it was a plain old normal winter you just never know. Will the icelandic volcano effect this winter ?
  2. Temperature wise there has been several records broken here in my region and infact the uk with some of these records going back to 1623 if the beginning of this winter is anything to go by I wouldn't be supprised if this winter is as bad as or even worst then the worst uk winters in living memory.
  3. I've just checked our forecast which is a subscription service used in the offshore industry and it says Scotland might get a few inches but by time it gets to Yorkshire it should be sleet the worrying thing is predicted temps for east Yorkshire are down to -7 which after sleet can't be good but the following week temps rise to +3 and it gave a 4% chance of a white Xmas for Beverley east yorkshire
  4. Great vids frenchieboy I've seen most of yours now
  5. The previous post portrays the deer were left to die in a field with no cut to the throat. This is not a "way of survival" FACT. This is not killing prey for the pot FACT and in my opinion this method of hunting deer is not sport. In regards to shooting you said it your self "you try to be as humane as possible" as im sure 99% of genuin shooters do. With regards to big red whats more humane stalking the animal and taking it down with a high powered rifle or chasing it down with a big pack of dogs. Its my opinion i'm fine with most blood sports but the deer with dogs is a step to far for me and i dont regard it as a sport or humane.
  6. I have read this topic from front to back and found it very interesting, I just hope I never have to deal with these types of issues. I believe if someone is stealing or damaging my property I have a god given right to do something about it legal or not. As for the dogs taking down deer I take it it's not a short affair and quite prolonged suffering for deer this is just cruel and out of order. I've been quite reserved with my opinion on this one as a newbie I dont want to upset anyone.
  7. Im applying for both because the other members on the shot dont do there share of vermin control so one of the critera for me getting membership is to contol the rabbits and pigeons which is the main reason I wanted this shot as theres loads of rabbits and pigeons and more land then i can shake a landy at.
  8. Right got the forms and on both it asks for what guns i will intend on adding to the licence. Ive found a CZ 22 rimfire I like the look and feel of but as for shot guns whats cheap and reasonable as a good started gun new or used.
  9. I never thought it would be that easy . Anyways Ill apply on Monday . What sort of rough times does it take to process applications
  10. Ive fired a shotgun before and .22's but it was over 10 years ago I loved it but due to circumstances out of my control (living with parents)I moved back to the city and never got the chance again. Now ive got the money and time to do it properly. I cant wait for the snow to clear and get started.
  11. Hi all, A quick question about how things work. Currently I’m about to have lessons at a local clay shooting ground, one of the members on here has offered to take me out and introduce me to the world of pigeon shooting and hopefully rabiting. My question is when should i start looking at guns and licenses or what sort of time scale should I be looking at. Cheers steve

  14. Totally agree as do other European countries regarding the driving test additions . As for the snow bringing out the 17 year old in us I have to admit I like to have a play in an empty carpark
  15. I use alpha anodizing and I've sent 1 offs to them with no problems they have a min order but I don't think it's to much and the quality is second to none all my gear is done to mil spec
  16. Hi, I've been reading the forum for a while now and finally bitten the bullet and joined. I'm a complete newbie and about to start lessons at humberside shooting grounds I'm not really interested in clays but see this as a good starting point. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions and will hopefully meet some forum members on route. Great forum, keep up the good work. Cheers Steve
