How old is the gun and how many rounds have been through it? The reason I ask is when I first started (many moons ago !!) I was told not to clean it. I was suffering with in accuracy and jams all the time. So I decided to strip it down and give it a good clean, guess what no more jams (ok the occasional one) and on the money accuracy wise .

Typical!! Somebody (you) puts the time and effort in building a shoot, it shows potential and then the farmer sees pounds,shillings and pence!! Take the feeders etc away just in case somebody has done the dirty on you.

If there are no back stops high seats may be the way to go. I'm in your neck of the woods if you get stuck.

We use 243 and 270 for dropping big reds, not far from you. The 243 is used almost exclusively and have to say no problem grouping 100 grain rounds. As for extraction a quad is used. The shooting of them is the easy part, gralloch, extraction and lardering is when the work starts. If extraction becomes a problem give me a shout, always willing to lend a hand.

Got vermin control on ticket for the 243, but not the 270.

There are a lot of travellers/####s knocking about in that area at the moment, a lot of caravans and general theft going on. Having had several run ins with them myself. Be extra vigilant!!
