  1. Testing day yesterday with the high winds, was a boys day, still plenty birds about, they had 74 head, for 459 shots, but on the day, they did well considering the conditions, think a lot of peeps would have struggled getting on them.
  2. Well done mate, there the best one's to get, real feeling of satisfaction.
  3. Alan did you get pm re bank details cheers
  4. Have you thought about how your going to hold them, have you got a lot of woods, they do like to wander, Still you will be doing a lot of dogging in or dogging out hope it's not the latter.
  5. Where in Bedfordshire are you, might be able to give you a few pointers.
  6. I keep my pups indoors, mind l only have one at a time, socialise them, at six months old they go down the kennel. Start training proper about 8-9 months old, take it nice and slow, make sure they understand each stage of the training process, I reckon they do focus better kennelled but everyone to there own, my dogs have free run of the garden, but they will not cross the threshold into the house once outside, just got a cocker pup so it all begins again.
  7. 1st day 130 was a partridge only day but 9 pheasants ended up in the bag, 2nd day tomorrow fingers crossed. Their flying well and plenty about.
  8. Don't know if it works the same as a business transaction, but by giving you a payment they have admitted that money is due too you, l use a solicitor that works on a no win no fee basis collecting unpaid invoices and they have told me if someone makes a payment to you, (like giving you a cheque that bounces) they are accepting liability for the debt, l know yours is not a debt, but does seem the same principal, basically their offering you money, so they must feel your entitled to some renumeration, even though you think it is not enough, get in touch with them and tell them it is not enough and ask for the amount you think is due to you. Good Luck.

l dont recommend poison in your house, they die where u cant pick them up your in trouble, stink the house out, you'll be having floor boards up. good luck with them, try another method though.

Thought i'd cleared them up, first one for a year, moorhens and duck were getting back, be running a line of traps soon, so will see if she was a loner, l know she wouldnt have been when she come in season checked traps this morning and empty so fingers crossed, at least there easy too trap which is a bonus.
  16. This is the 20th mink i've caught on the farm, this cheeky beggar was in the tree, the dogs were having a route round and l heard it hissing at them she even stuck her head out to have a look, so l set a mark 6 fenn trap in a tunnel, blocked in one end and put some pigeon breast behind the trap, next day trap sprung but empty,so reset it,this afternoon checked and result, you can see the tunnel trap just to the right of the tree.

  18. Went out this morning about 6am had a look around the farm, saw one down by the wood but was not playing to the wam, so went to the boundary of a neighbouring farm put the ucaller on using the vixen call caught eyeshine but to far out and again not playing. Been putting some pigeons out on another part of the farm was light by now, used to be a fallen tree over the river which went into a big wood which isn't ours, snared lots of fox on it and shot them as they came over, but they've now cleared it so the river can run freely and there hasn't been many fox that end of the farm since. The pigeon were being taken so charlie was back on the scene, ucaller again vixen call,on for about ten minutes, just caught a glimpse of movement in the grass, l was in a on a bank looking down she came in, stopped trying to make out where barking was coming from, thwack was 8am, another half dozen fox not to worry the birds this season, spanielman.
