  1. If you look under forums for 'grade identification so I can sell gun' you should see some close up pics. If these arent enough, let me know with e mail and I will e mail some more over.

    Cheers Schmoo.

  2. Rise above it bud, you have far too much to lose: Your job for one and god forbid your SGC or FAC, as I have heard that crimes of violence can cause these to be revoked. Give the septic a smile and just think to yourself, you ****er ( I put the **** in there myself) Rise above it and chin up, we all meet P***ks like that from time to time, he will get put on his back side one day, just hope your there to witness it. ATB. Schmoo.
  3. No worries, non taken. Just didnt have the money to go all out and get everything. I know both have their place and in time I want both, I guess if money was no object I would have both calibers in dedicated nv and day version, but dont have the dosh. I am just after some options and ideas so I can plan finances etc for the future. Do like the sound of a hmr with half decent optics for day and night work, with either a nv add or or variable power lamp for just after dusk if I want to stay out or for just before first light. Got to start somewhere, I will eventually have both calibers as they are both good at what they do. Just got to save the old.pennies and take a good year or so to fund this all !!!!!!! Regards Schmoo.
  4. Can yiu suggest a decent lamp for the hmr night set up, not too stupid money though, or does it have to a red flter, millions of candle power etc etc. Thanks Schmoo.
  5. Did you manage to get any rabbits ? £700 is the bottom line, sorry. You will see if you see her why im asking £700 she is mint inside and out.

Good luck in your search, you might get lucky and find one for that kind of money, but she is likely to be well used and have loose action. Mine is tight, lever still doesnt sit straight she is that unused and tight. Schmoo.

  6. Thanks for that I will havd to save and save and save some more, if you were on a budget of say £150 what would be a good starting point ? I would be shooting the hmr all day but at last light would be its prefered time for me. Am I more interested in the mag or the optic diameter, ie 50 56 40mm ? Thanks and sorry for the stupid questions, I just dont want to buy one and then have to re buy another a week later and so on. But money is an issue. Schmoo.
  7. Hopefully one of the two scopes I already have should do the trick for the hmr. I will use the .22 at night possibly with a nv unit of some kind, can a nv scope be used during the day or is it a dedicated darkness unit only, dont want to faff about having to take it off if I use the .22 during the day. Schmoo.
  8. What scope would you use on the day hmr, I have a 3-9 50 and a 6-24 40 tbey are not mega money scopes but not plastic chinese ones. Or will I need to invest in a decent optic for the hmr, I dread to think what the nv scope will.cost me !!!! I do tend to have my scopes on hi mag, even on my air rifle at 40yds I have it on 9 to 12, it just makes it easier for me to see if I am holding the rifle steady, pkus I dont think my eyes are that good ! Thanks for that Schmoo.
  9. None that I am aware of, it is mint considering its best part of 20 years old, local gun shop was was going to sell it for me on commission, so after his fee is taken off I guess £700. I doubt you will find a cleaner example. I can send pics if you want.

    Schmoo.

  10. Shame your so far away, im in west sussex. I have a air arms s410 carbine in .22 I also have a .177 barell for it too along with 2 x 10 shot magazines in each caliber. Was akso going to sell the 3l dive bottle as a whole package. For £450. Best luck in your search Schmoo.
  11. Look in forums under. Grade identification so I can sell gun.

There are some pics of her in that forum post by me.

    Cheers Schmoo.

  12. Around the £775 mark, but may be ooen to a sensible offer, she just sits in my cabinet.

This isnt the gun for you if your after a field gun, she is far too clean and nice for field work. I have only used her on clays, she is far too nice to get covered in blood and feathers for my liking. She is mint, she has better engraving than other grade 2's ive seen, she is complete with all...

  14. Fancy meeting up to have a look or do you want me to text you some pics over, if so of any particular angle etc ?

  15. I would like to end up with 2 x .22lr one in semi for day work, one set up for night work in bolt and a .17hmr for long range stuff. All depends of funds though, will settle for a .22 bolt first and take it from there, but would imagine the .17 hmr will be next on the shopping list. Schmoo
  16. I strip mine down, learnt my leson once after only wiping a rifle down really well and putting away in cabinet after letting it air dry too for an hour or so, when I got it out of the cabinet a week later the blueing where the rifle meets the stock and jnder the stock had a lot of surface rust, wont do that again. Now I strip it down dry and wipe it over with oil, I put that in the cabinet and hand dry the wood and leave that in a bedroom on a flat surface to air dry, never put it on radiator or in airing cupboard, it may dry the wood out too fast. I think I may get a hmr in stainless and synthetic, these might be more durable when a rifle might get wet. Schmoo.
  17. Thank you guys for all your advice. I.will get the .22lr first use subs and see how I get on. Once the bank balance allows get myself a .17hmr too. Any ideas on rifle choice ? I have been looking at the cz452 or brno mod 2, like the look of the savage and the ruger 10/22 also. Schmoo.
  18. Hi I am on a budget I had originally planed to get a semi .22 for day shooting subs, another .22 bolt for night sub work and a .17 hmr for longer range rabbits and sitting crows. I was wondering would a cz452 in .22lr be my best choice if I was to use it sometimes with subs when noise is an issue and re zero it and run hv rounds thru it when distance is an issue. I had the idea of using the subs for lamping and general day work out to 60-70 yds. And the hmr was going to be my long range gun for day work, all on rabbits or sitting crows. Would it be a cheaper option to have one rifle and just run subs then hv rounds thru it, or am I going to save nothing having bought .22lr hv rounds and used 5 every time to re zero, will it be inaccurate with hv, will it give much extra distance over the subs. Im not trying to re start the old, whats better .22 or .17 hmr, im just wondering if it may be an option for me under these cirvumstances ? Sorry if this has been spoken about in the past, I could not find it when I searched. Thanks Schmoo.
  19. My god what a simple idea, pricey im sure. I would imagine any one with a limited knowledge of DIY should be able to get some sheets of corrigated plastic to make it from, a few rolls of self adhesive mirror, a few cable ties, bits of string etc and hey presto a homemade version for £40. Just a bit of time to make it and as and when it flies away in the wind, adapt it add bits and bobs here and there a few guys ropes, a handy bit of kit for shooting on openish ground, I would imagine. Be interesting to see if anyone else has used on bought one, plenty of stuff on it over the pond. Schmoo.
  20. I have read about this a couple of times lately, just glad you didnt eject and re load another round, dread to think what may have happened. I was thinking of getting 2 x .22lr and a hmr, im wondering now about the hmr ! Schmoo.
  21. Nice lokking bit of kit I am after a .22lr semi and a bolt version, am torn between this and the ruger. Let us how she performs, would love to know, how much was it ? Is the 511 the replacement for the 581, any idea. Schmoo
  22. Ever considered the Browning 352 30''m/c sporter ? Schmoo
  23. I was asking myself that a few weeks ago, I ended up aplying for a .22lr semi for day work a .22lr bolt for lamping and a 17hmr for long range rabbits and ground crows. I should have most bases covered with those. I will get a ..22 first and see how things go, if I am struggling with distance then I may consider getting a 17hmr, but will see if the .22 does it all first, I think a .22 should, may just be a long range weapon the 17hmr, something of a luxary as and when I can afford to run one !!!!! Schmoo.
  24. Thanks for that, I will get the kids to help me list it. Schmoo.
