Well, here goes.
I did the decent thing and declared my old motoring convictions on my FAC application.
Sent it off and Sussex police confirmed they received it on the 15th March 2012, I asked how long for a home visit ?
Was told a good 6 weeks, so I waited and sure enough had my home visit on the 26th April 2012.
During the home visit, it was noted that a serial number on one of my shotguns was incorrect, also my FEO said one of my
referees could not be used as he was a touch too close to home, he also said that this wil delay my FAC by a couple of weeks, and was looking at 14 weeks before it would be issued, so my FEO wrote to me with a referee form etc and I found
a new referee sent forms back etc.
Imagine my suprise on the 16th of may, getting a phone call from the Sussex police firearms unit saying it has been granted and is coming out to you 2nd class today, HAPPY DAYS, so all in all from them receiving my aaplication to it being granted 9 weeks, not bad as i was told at the application stage 20 weeks.
I sent my SGC back to have the serial number changed, posted it on the thursday and had it back on my door step the following wednesday, what a bloody great service Sussex police provide, last year they had my SGC granted from receipt to grant in 4 weeks and this included a doctors letter as I have had some medication prescribed for anxiety in the past.
Schmoo.
