It appears he does, more than you perhaps? Oh no, hang on, it's not knowledge, it's personal taste and therefore not a tangible, definable measure, ergo no one wins or loses.
  2. 150 - 190mph with dry stone walls either side, astonishing, breathtaking, potentially lethal...all of those but exhilirating and life affirming at the same time. I love doing 140mph on track and 80mph knee down corners, but this is a whole different world. No run off, gravel traps or safety barriers. Insted, you get dry stone walls, bridges, drain covers and white lines...and they are still going flat out! Respec'!
  3. You aren't very well educated about dogs are you Tim., otherwise you'd never have typed that crock of ! Sorry to hear about your dogs injuries Jackar7, hope she recovers swiftly.

Ok Storme, we get the idea, you're a fan mate who can't hear a bad word said about him professionally. As far as I'm concerned GordonR was on the money in his previous post and as you just pointed out, he's not done anything since Queen, his success as a musician was purely down to him being in Queen without them he'd be a nobody...well, not done anything other than champion the cause of foxes, badgers and whatever the hell it was he had on his hat at the closing ceremony. I'm not going to sit here and argue the toss over Brian May, he's not worth my energy, as such that's me done on this thread.

Living off his time in Queen again. Anyone fancy naming me a Brian May solo hit?
  7. LOL, following that thinking duck should taste... weedy?
  8. Each to their own mate, I've owned two BSA's, one was a John Bowkett tuned Ultra tactical. Just didn't really gel with either of them, the Ultra was just too light and unsubstantial, even though it was blueprinted you still felt every vibration through it and it seemed to move with just a puff of wind, not my cup of tea. As such my preference lies with the two stated. That said, a Super 10 with scope and pump for 400 quid is a decent deal and he may well love it.
  9. There were 41 actually, there are more on the pylon itself so that is nearly 15,000lbs a year, EVEN MORE REASON! Wonder what they taste like?
  10. It can get a bit rough for sure, it may not be the open sea but it gets open enough to get a good chop on it. Full bodies it is me thinks.

Agreed mate, never said he was a has been, that was someone else. Just saying that he's perhaps had a somewhat charmed career and would have been most likely a nobody without Queen. I think you'd be hard pressed to make the argument that Queen would have been nothing without Brian May, whereas IMO it's a given that would have been the case without Freddie...anyway, to get back on topic. The man's a deluded loon living in his own fluffy little world in my opinion.
  12. On a serious note, did I not read recently that this was under serious consideration at the moment?

To be fair, most of his success comes from being a part of Queen and Freddie Mercury was the energy and vitality that fired that group into super stardom, he went along for the ride. While undoubtedly a talented guitarist, he has lived off his time in Queen ever since. I don't honestly believe most of us would know who he is if it weren't for the band.
  14. I have chrono'd mine with my own chrono and also with my local gunshops considerably bigger, flashier and more expensive so hopefully more accurate unit, they disagreed by 0.1 ft/lb. More importantly, we tried10 different weight/manufacturer/design permutations from dedicated FT pellets to full on hunting pellets. The Bisley Mags gave me the highest reading of 11.7, the trend then tended to be that the lighter the pellet the lower the figure, down to 11.1 ft/lb which IIRC was the Webley Mosquito. The Air Arms Fields bucked the trend slightly, they were mid weight range but chrono'd at 11.6ft/lb. I'm happy I've done as much as I can and would have a decent case if I ended up in court.
  15. Anyone been called out to do a bit of pest control yet? That's going to call for a bigger than average load. Would it make you the last hunter of English big game ever?
  16. Agree completely, very unlikely, but, would you take the chance of losing your certs over a slightly over power air rifle?
  17. Doesn't matter though. If they fire something through it which chronos over 12ft/lb you have a problem.
  18. Hopefully the winking smilie after the 'are they back on the licence' comment will be enough for most people to understand it was a tongue in cheek comment Hutchie.
  19. Yes, sorry mate, I thought I'd put it in the post as well as the sub-title, edited now.
  20. I knew somebody would have to say it, but anyway, I'm with HDAV on this one. We don't need to show that level of marksmanship because we are recreational shooters. Armed professionals who can't achieve high levels of maksmanship maybe shouldn't be armed until they can?
  21. Walking the dogs this afternoon when I noticed large numbers of relatively large birds perched along some power lines. My interest was piqued by the size of them and, it wasn't until one or two did the characteristic wing flap and stretch that they do, that I suddenly started to realise what they were. This was confirmed by a couple more that came down the river Adur that we were walking along and then diverted across to join them. Anyone else seen cormorants in these numbers and anyone know why? I've never seen this density before, yes you see maybe half a dozen along the tidal stretches sat on moorings and similar, but also I've never seen them on power lines. Apologies for the quality, it was on the Blackberry and at distance, I counted 41 birds... Are they back on the General licence yet, and if so what cart size would you recommend?
  22. Surely in a crowded area they should have held/limited their fire? As people who carry and use guns for a living, surely they should be trained to be able to, A/ Hit a human sized torso every time, and B/ To deal with situations that involve running innocents and hiding/moving targets? ...and please don't bother asking/suggesting that I couldn't do any better, I'm not a paid, (allegedly) professional in that field so there's no reason to assume I would be.
  23. 'The officers unloaded 16 rounds in the shadow of the Empire State Building at a disgruntled former apparel designer, killing him after he engaged in a gunbattle with police, authorities said. Three passersby sustained direct gunshot wounds, while the remaining six were hit by fragments, according to New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly. All injuries were caused by police, he said Saturday. One officer shot nine rounds and another shot seven.' Anyone else think the officers maybe need to go on a marksmanship course?
  24. I'd go for a AA S410 or Daystate Mk3/Huntsman for that kind of money. Both ultra accurate, reliable and well built without being too heavy. I've owned both (have a Mk3 rather than a Huntsman but essentially the same gun) along with a BSA Ultra, a Scorpion, a HW100 (great gun but man it's heavy!) and a Logun S16s (never got on with that gun) and would go for the Daystate over the S410 but only because it's electronic trigger and quality sound mod makes it feel just slightly more refined. I'd happily have either though.
