  1. You can buy a DB9 for under 20K, doesn't mean you should.
  2. For under 1k you'll struggle to pick up a nice No2, therefore I'd look at XXV boxlock or Best quality if you can find one, all lovely guns.
  3. My number 2 auto locks (1980), what are you going to have done to the stock?
  4. Cant wait till my sons old enough, hope he will show an interest, good times - take him out and enjoy his excitement.
  5. That's lovely, I'd spend a bit making it perfect, refinished the stock and have the actioned cleaned up. Can I ask how much you paid?
  6. Many thanks guys will give them a ring Tuesday.
  7. My local authority or the lands, it's classed as a different county.
  8. Thinking about applying for my FAC. I have permission on the below land with my SGC and the farmer has no problems me taking a rifle there either. However is this land suitable with the one problem to the right hand side, there is a small woodland in the middle which separates the area. Also would my application be passed if I included this land in it. Currently lamping at night takes place in the same area and fields. [/url]
  9. My son is just coming up to his first birthday so has a good while to wait yet, but soon as I found out it was a boy the first things that came into my head where shooting and playing all sorts of games together. What do you think is a decent age for a young one to start learning gun safety and shooting.
  10. Yeah 30's are quite hurtful a good session leaves me with a bruise more often than not, 32+ I wouldn't like to go there. You know you've done a couple of rounds of skeet with 28's as well, all good fun though. However Gamebore Black gold have a recoil reduction thingy in their 30's and this is much better believe it or not. Might give 32's a go come pheasant season.
  11. Didn't say I did, just this is normally what happens ;-) Will give this a go thanks. Likely to be this. It's just annoying having a warm cart roll down the back of your hand, ideally I like them clearing my body out the way.
  12. Can't see how they would stick more, but they are a little more weighty, but not by much at all.
  13. Noticed they have this, can it really effect the eject though? Love they way they shoot and look, its a shame.
  14. Has any-one else found they don't eject well at all, normally my carts shoot behind me 6 feet+ away, with these Gamebore BG it's lucky if they clear my arm. Could it be they have a big metal base casing, or something else.

    Sad Dad

Has to be the worst news any can receive, wouldn't wish it upon any-one, hard times, stay strong for as long as you can.
  16. Although you make it sound simple it's very good advice, will try it out to the letter in a couple of weekends time, I'll report back to how I've got on! Thanks again for your post.
  17. Many thanks for all the replies, didn't know you got a magazine as well, is this every month or is it more of a leaflet. Does their insurance cover all gun of all ages, accidental damage etc or is it just for accidents/injuries ?
  18. Who has it and who doesn't bother? What do you get for your subscription that makes it worth while? I mostly do walk round shooting and considering a BASC subscription, at under 8 quid a month it doesn't seem a lot. Whats the gun insurance all about, theres plenty of things on their website but not a lot of detail.
  19. Excellent video, your shooting sessions look a lot more busy than mine, I live local would love to tag along sometime.
  20. Does it really make any difference, I purchased some Gamebore Black gold which are advertised as "up to" 1500fps, don't get me wrong they are some sexy looking cartridges, but will it make me hit more oftern than a srandard no thrills box from someone you've never heard of. These carts are sometimes up to £2 more for 25 than the no thrills boxes, but what FPS do these cheaper carts opperate at?
  21. Made 20 phone calls to local farms the other day and didn't even come close, really need more permissions, local pigeon watch members aren't interested in sharing either :-(
  22. Thanks for the reply, they probably are going easy where, the field I shoot currently has corn which isn't doing so well, the other field is grassed both with big woodlands at each end, the neighbouring fields are all wheat one of which was being cut the other day when I was down there. Probably didn't stand much of a chance. Wish my field where more interesting to them :-(
