Just had my first SGC renewal. 8 wks! Expected it to be much longer given some of the horror stories we read about firearms licencing backlogs. FEO told me that provided paperwork is in by their stipulated deadline they guarantee to turn it around before old cert expires (give or take subject to FEOs' or applicants being on holiday during that time) If paperwork is late expect to pay storage fees and have a wait. So if your certs up for renewal guys, get your paperwork in on time!

Europe's failing, lets have MORE Europe!

The reason call me Dave wants the referendum so quick is he wants it done and dusted so that if we vote in (yeah right ) he can get the basket case that is Turkey into the EU.

Great posts by TIGHTCHOKE and grrclark I find it interesting that not a single Europhile (and not just in this thread) has yet presented me with any hard facts as to why I should vote to stay in the United Soviet State of Europe!

Exactly how I feel Scully.

Poontang and Les*1066 great posts. This forum really needs a like button. I assume we don't have one because of some EU regulation?

OUT. I want my/our freedom back!

Been using a Norton IB8 stone for a few years now with good results. Really hate spending any amount of time sharpening, this works quickly and effectively. If I want to go to town knocking off the burr for edge retention I,ll use a ceramic stone, car window, bottom of a mug etc, much quicker than stropping.

EU Review of Firearms Legislation
Bad Monkey replied to mick miller's topic in General Shooting Matters
Received one reply so far from 5 emails sent. Dear constituent, Thank you for your email about this very sensitive subject. I recall in the wake of the Hungerford and Dunblane tragedies here in the UK there was a very swift - and some felt, indeed, hasty - legislative reaction which ran the risk of penalising entirely law-abiding citizens because of the actions of deranged individuals. In those very sad cases the argument could have at least be made that those people had used legally held firearms to carry out their dreadful crimes and it was therefore a challenging and finely balanced judgement that legislators had to make between the rights of individuals and the overall perceived risk to society. In the case of the Paris attacks, however, you quite rightly stress the fact that none of the perpetrators used legally obtained - or indeed obtainable - firearms and that these hideous terrorist outrages are not in any way connected to normal people or normal laws, or normal patterns of ownership. I am, therefore, nervous to say the least to see this proposal being made at this time and feel there will have to be very persuasive arguments made for me to agree to anything like what is being proposed. It is the context and the Europe-wide scope of this proposal that particularly concern me, as distinct in some respects from the merits or otherwise of the proposal in its own right. The mrs and I don't do anything for valentines day. I have however agreed to let her pick up for me on a romantic evenings' roost shooting on Saturday. I know what y'all gonna say....I spoil her!!!.... but I don't mind, she's worth it.

I've 1 gun with a 10mm rib and 1 with a 6mm rib, aesthetically I prefer 10mm. When shooting I can't actually see the rib. Begs the question, why's it even there?

Hmmm, was recently considering a new B525 game gun from Browning, but it seems their warranty isn't worth a ****, don't think i'll bother.
