Hi Guys I have read somewhere that you can kill a rabbit with a head shot at 3 ftlb apparently in 177 this would be 85-95yds and in 22 75-85yds, however the very best attitude is a 50yd. limit in good still conditions. The biggest problem is we all think why not!!!! when it should only be why?? Yes, we may not have had a shot all day which does happen, but that very long range rabbit can be got another day. Hi Guys When I have used the spinny wing jobs at the back of the pattern the birds flare off a long way out, but if it is put well in front of your v or u you stand a better chance of the birds passing in front of you. However much better are real birds or hyper flappers.

Hi all just a quick up date I have just got home feeling well p###ed off as I got 'Bumped' due to lack of ICU beds so been told to go back in next week I've got every thing crossed that they get me done!!! Hi Guys I am going into hospital today for the heart bypass op. I will be in for the next 7 days . When I get out not allowed to drive for 6 weeks and not allowed ot lift a shotgun for three months, so in about 3 weeks me and the misses will be knocking lumps out of each other. therfore if theres anybody in the biggleswade area that would like some company I would be verry happy to be out in the field and just watch. Hi guys tipical got up the field at 7.30 set up by 8.30 two hides one at the top of the field and me at the bottem, the crows came in well and I dropped 3 in 10 mins. then nothing all day the farmer was starting to drill the otherside of the track so we go back in the morrning to see if things improve. You shot 18 as you walked the birds off the field? That's some gun you have. Good luck, i'd be surprised if you get the birds to decoy if they all come in one hit. You are not wrong although I was only using the bosses 20 g it felt like a blunderbus I picked one bird to track and fired and twice knocked 3 birds down but if it was a random shot with either one or both barrels I never hit anything. Anyway a little more news heared today I am going into hospital for the heart bypass op. a week on tuesday that gives me one weeks shooting and then three months without being able to lift a gun unless she who must be obeyed lets me buy a cheap semi. if anybody got one going cheap please let me know and then she will have to drive me to the field and pick me up later if she dose not want to shoot. Hi guy . My son got a call from his best mate on sat. that they had started drilling on the back fen fields , could we get up, he was working so I went up on my own on sunday. where I wanted to setup at the end of a short hedge the farmer had left his tractor over night, so I went further along the field to a small bush the only cover where I could cover two fields . I had hide built and deeks out by 8.30am and sat and waited thousands of gulls about but very few pigeons as the morrning went on I had 2 crows that where passing over and 2 pigeons it was very cold and snowing by 12.00 I had enough so started to pack up. As I drove of the field a cloud of blue came over the back wood and dropped into the field, I parked up and started to walk the field edge as I walked the birds off I shot 18. I was cold from sitting the hide and knackered from all that walking in full cold weather gear.I called it a day at 1.30 called the farmer to tell him what was happening and drove home. This morrning I got that call we all love to hear that the field is still blue with pigeons can we get there but as both of us are working we could'nt get there today but we will be there on Tuesday, lets hope they are still there and will decoy into the pattern. I wemt out this sat. with my 30 year old son (his first time on pigeons). My first time out since the start of september. we set up on his mates farm in Rampton cambs. dam the ground was wet (asked the farmer when he was going to start planting rice) .We set up a largeish dung pile that had about 50 birds on when we scouted about and tht was it not one decoyed all morrning but quiet a few high birds . Total for the day 6 pigeons, 1 crow, 2 magpies and 1 fox that tried to pass 10 yards in front of us. Now my son is applying for his shotgun licence and wants to go again next sat., and as I am due to have a heart bypass op. in the next coupple of weeks and will not be allowed to fire a shotgun for three months the more times out now the better. I picked up 2 this weekend at the carboot both 12V,7AH cost me £1.00 each both hold a charge well and ran flaper for over 4 hours and rotery for 3 hours , Can't beat that for value. Martin

Time to get down to aldi's they have got thier camo 'T' shirts, trousers, fleeces and tops all at £10.00 a shot.Good value and most of thier stuff is faily good. just got pack of 2 t shirts and a hooded top they are as stiff as a board so the boss will have to get them washed , these should do me a season in the field!!!!!!!!! I use one of these when air gunning also used simalar when decoying on a short session as they take no time to putup and take down . You must make sure it is well pegged down and use a cammo net to take out the profile . But best of all they keep you dry and warm Good shooting Martin
