  1. Thanks for the input. Don't fancy the runners. Don't like the look of them. Been looking at kahki Campbell's and call ducks. Will probably go for one of them if I can source them.
  2. OK thanks. I will have a look at both of them. The main problem round here seems to be sourcing the ducks.
  3. Apologies if this is in the wrong place. Admin please move or delete if appropriate. I have a brace of Aylesbury ducks. The drake has become very aggressive towards my hens and will be removed by the weekend. I'm going to get another duck to keep the one I have company. What's the best laying duck that would get on well with my Aylesbury? I can get hold of some Indian runners. Are these any good? Cheers Michael
  4. Thanks for the replies. Most helpful. I'll have a look at it this weekend.
  5. I use Bisley long rang gold plank. Harvey I've checked the mounts, they are ok. I will have a go at the barrel clamp. Thanks lads
  6. Hello I have the above gun and I'm having some problems with accuracy. I can zero the gun so its bob on at 12 yards but when I move out to 24 yards the gun shoots left. At 36 yards its a long way left. I'm aware that you have to addjust for pellet drop at longer distance but surely it should still shoot straight. I have a seal kit i'm gonna put on. Any ideas? Thanks Michael

I can send them via email if required There on thd bay for £6.99 plus £1 postage. For pigeon watch members I will do them. for £5.99 plus the postage. Any questions please ask. Cheers Michael
  10. OK thanks for the reply. I'll have a look at that
  11. Hi, I have a smoker which I use for ratting. I have found an active fox set and was thinking of using the smoker to bolt the fox to shoot with as shotgun. Is this legal? I have a mate who seems to think it isn't. I Don't wanna do anything I shouldn't be so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  12. They both fire at the same time. 1 hits the ground in front the other hits the target.
  13. Knocked a few branchers off today. Fancy giving crow pie a go but can't find a decent recipe. Any body got one?
  14. I was out watching some geese one night and sat on a blow dead tree. As it was coming dark a couple of barn owls started flitting about. One of them landed on the tree I was sat on about 15 foot away and stayed there for a good 5mins. Amazing really as I had the dog with me. Things like that make me love the sport even more.
  15. When we've been out lamping and squeezing foxes we quite often get owls swooping over our heads. They scare the s### out a you because you can't here them coming.
  16. Hi That's good to know thanks. We stopped using dogs when the hunting ban came in thinking it was a ban against using all dogs. These dogs are pretty good ratters and would be handy even if they just bolt the fox for the gun to clean up. Well I know what I'm doing this weekend! Where's my shovel?!?!
  17. U'd be surprised how much smoke comes out that you can't see. if you leave it ticking over for a bit then rev it up for a few mins then repeat u should get decent amounts of smoke. Also if you can adjust the carb and get it running rich that might help.
  18. Hi rascal. Not having a go just interested. I thought killing foxes with dogs was illegal? Fairly certain running them with lurchers is but is there an exemption for terriers? Would be handy to know as I have a mate with a couple of terriers and they would be useful to help thin a few foxes out, Cheers

    Camo Nets

I would be interested in a normal 1. I'll have a look at the pics when u get them on
  20. I have a camo version of the maxus. Must say its one of the nicest gun to shoot I've ever used. Love the features and the easy strip down for cleaning. It's never jammed and cycles loads from 21 to 46 gram. The only thing I'm dissapointed about is the finish. It seems to be really below par. Which is surprising because I also have a browning phoenix and that's excellent. Anyone else found this?
  21. That's my sort of job! Nice open field to drop stuff in, No lowering or prize rose bushes to avoid. the zig zag looks impressive as well, just watched a demo on youtube. Think I'm gonna have to pester my boss for one . Great vid and a job well done, Nice one.
  22. Thanks for the input kent. Its interesting reading about your experiences. The adrenaline thing is a very good point, one that I hadn't thought about. After being shot they didn't move s far. I actually put a second shot into a young rabbit from about 5 foot away and that still didn't finish it off. Also I've seen a few foxes shot with a 22.250 that have managed to run on for 100yards or so and on inspection the shot placement has been good. Thinking back these have always been the more skittish ones. So the adrenaline must have been pumping before they were shot.
  23. I'll have a go at that. Thanks for the advice.
