  2. Gents, Many thanks for the replies so far, very much appreciated! Paul
  3. Guys, I was hoping for a bit of advice please: Firstly, which .243 rifle would you buy? It's got to be suitable for deer and fox. Ideally available with a synthetic stock and a heavy barrell. I don't really have a budget in mind, I'm more intererested in getting the right rifle the first time round. Secondly, I've asked for 100 to buy and 150 to hold, does that sound about right? Thanks Paul
  4. If all else fails, and you get no satisfaction whatsoever, could it be welded back on? Or brazed maybe? If people reckon so, you're welcome to send it my way, and I'll have a go for you. Do a pretty neat job so I'm told. You'd lose the surrounding area of Camo of course. Good luck P
  5. Good on you Steve. Was just about to post a reply suggesting you do exactly what you've done. Good to see there's still plenty of honesty out there, especially as not a single soul on here advised you to keep it :-) P
  6. I've done it, and found it to be thoroughly rewarding. Bit of advice though: Read the reviews that other students have written for particular modules when choosing your 'free choice' elements. Other wise you might come a cropper like I did with a rotten module! P
  7. Afternoon All, I am after some land suitable for deer stalking. In the above areas (Herts/Beds/Cambs/Similar) Of course I am aware that land like this doesn't come free. I am happy to offer either my time (qualified electrician(In a previous life) and now a project manager with the water board (might be useful for irrigation type stuff)), or failing that I am happy to pay a sensible fee for the land. I have both an FAC and insurance of course. Hope someone will be able to help. All the best Paul
  8. Apache, You're not wrong, I did really want to find a decent range though. Even if it's just a good practice venue for those rainy days we seem to be having so many of just now. Thanks for your replies guys....
  9. Guys, I know it's perfectly possible to get a rifle zeroed in the field, but does anyone know of anywhere reasonably local to Herts where you can go and in a nice controlled environment zero a .17hmr at 100m? I don't want to join a target club if I can avoid it. I'd just like a pay as you go range facility to sort out the new scope/rifle combo. Many thanks Paul
