  1. Thanks cocker3, yes I'm one proud dog owner even more so when we spend a lovely time shooting and get to watch him work. Thanks (I think so)
  2. I'd been working in the garden all day friday with the wife to be, it got to about 5 and a decided to take the gun, dog and managed to get the future wife to come along too (which took some incouragement). With only a pocket full of cartridges and the 12g we started to walk the perimeter of a new permission got got last week hopeful to get some pigeons coming back to roost, this plan wasn't working so decided to head to the back of the permission where i had seen some rabbits during the week. This turned out to be a good choice as the pigeons that night were about but not playing ball. Whilst walking to the back of the permission with my eyes still looking for pigeons along a track next to a field of rhubarb darted about 6 rabbits, by the time i saw them out the corner of my eye they were gone. I thought to my self, not to worry i'l give them ago on the way back with any luck (plus to wind will be in our faces). We carried on and saw some more but had no cover to get up close enough. I saw some pigeons roosting in a cluster of tall trees along a hedgeline i thought on the approach must of them took flight ago time before we got in range when suddenly one dropped out of the trees just in front of use and made way across the field, i swung the gun and fist cartridge saw it drop. I was most pleased with the shot as lately i've been missing everything. I sent the dog and it was a good quick retrieve. On the walk back to the spot we'd seen the rabbits we walked nice and slow and kept nice a quite, turned round the corner and managed to bag 3 rabbits with 2 cartridges. Earlier on i'm sure i got another at the start of the eveving but it scurried away down a burrow. All in all i was very pleased with the evening, i couldn't think of a better way to spend 2 hours. Both the future wife and the dog enjoyed the walk, can't wait to do it again hopefully monday evening.
