  1. Wow that’s really interesting thanks for posting that! How is she Steve?
  2. Ahhh yeah I totally get you 👍 Few from today! Botheration the other files are too large - never mind!
  3. It was his reward for outing - do you think it’s a bad idea? Seems to work - I get the long line may tangle …
  4. Idiot 🙄😂 Muscling up nicely though!
  5. This idiot would quite happily choke himself out 🙄 That said he’s improving leaps and bounds and we’re really starting to get there with the focus heelwork 😊
  6. Also sorry no video tonight, try again tomorrow, I decided to do tracking with him instead to use his brain cells so he would sleep. 😂
  7. The great thing about clicker training is you’re just marking the desired behaviour. You can use whatever turns the dog on to reward, whether it’s treats or a thrown ball 😊
  8. I’ll try and do a video when I train Pablo later, easier than explaining 👍
  9. I always dismissed clicker training as being a bit faddy but what a game changer it is! Does anyone else use clicker training?
  10. Hard explain - the collar has short prongs on the inside which lie flat against the dog’s fur when there’s no pressure on it but which come into play if he’s being a bit of a swine and pulls hard at the collar - like a slip lead they release instantly.
  11. Headaches is right 😂😂 I’m not going to lie there’s been moments where I’ve regretted the decision to get him but everything seems to be slotting into place now 🤞🤞 Here he is at PSA training last night eyeing up and barking at the incoming decoy - this was SO much fun! (Yes he has a prong collar on, no the lead wasn’t attached to the prong collar, it was attached to his flat. Prong collar is only there for emergency use - don’t judge me until you’ve had a high drive Mali! 😂)
  12. He’s gorgeous, is it me or does he have a slight look of Stan about him in the face? xx
  13. It’s dead easy to start them off - way easier than the Gundog job as long as (and this is the biggie) the dog is ball crazy and environmentally unphased by anything at all 👍 If he’s NASDU then he really should have contacts already to help mind you 🤔 If he’s not NASDU he’s better off doing that and training with a trained dog before he thinks of getting his own as it’ll need to be licenced also , no mean feat in itself (I think, anyway) xx Hows his Mali coming along?
  14. Incidentally, if anyone fancies a challenge their breeder is repeating the mating, the Sire is called Lorockmoor Mensa, lots on the internet about him 😂
  15. All grown up!! They had their first long sends the other day (which is where you let them go and they bite and hold a decoy, in their case on a bite sleeve) Obedience is coming on a treat, it’s not been easy but so far it’s definitely worth it! Video of his (and my!) first ever long send! He was getting tired by this point bless him ❤️ https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10160420396008538&id=694003537&m_entstream_source=timeline
  16. Definitely needed a better ‘out’ 🙈😢
  17. Just seen there’s been a lady killed in the US by her own protection dog, a Dutch Shepherd!
  18. I don’t care who you are, whether you’re experienced with dogs or clueless, you don’t take on a dog of that sort of breed (or any!) and put it or a young child or indeed any child or person in a situation where this could happen. That said my deepest sympathies are with the child, her family and friends and the police who have had to deal with this dreadful tragedy.
  19. Brilliant thanks for letting me know 😊
