  1. Thanks I keep the originals in my shooting bag with my permission slips so I always take them when I go out. I know I don't have to but gives me peace of mind in situations like this and also easy if I need to pop out for ammunition. Also the gun is a CZ455 Varmint
  2. A story and picture from a few weeks ago, when I went out with Scott and my .22LR. We managed to lamp 6 rabbits and whilst we were gutting them were illuminated by light at the entrance to the farm. This was at about 11:00pm, and not being able to see anything I stumbled out into the light with my camo, bloody hands and opinel (probably not what they were expecting) When I got close I could see it was the police. Thankfully they were very friendly and checked all my documents (good job I keep everything with me). They had a call when someone had seen my car and thought we were stealing stuff from the farm, so once that was all cleared up the police were happy to have a chat about our nights shooting and were off on their way. Typically by the time they had left it had started raining, so we got quite wet prepping the last of the rabbits and got home a bit later than expected. Good nights shooting overall though
  3. I was determined to get out pigeon shooting today, despite having worked nights all weekend; so this morning after work I got home, packed my gear and Hatsan pump and made my way over to one of my permissions that the pigeons have been hammering. I got everything set up OK and saw lots of birds about. Got four fairly quickly including one double and then the winds started to pick up! The birds stopped flying but I stuck it out for an extra couple of hours, and when I was nearly smothered by my hide I decided to call it a day and come home. Not the biggest bag but a fun morning out (if not windy and cold) and I have a couple of dinners out of it Might go back tomorrow night with my new HMR and try to bag some bunnies, but for now, it is time for bed
  4. Gutted i am working that night Colin :( Hope you all have a good time!

  6. This week I bought myself a CZ452 .17HMR, and thought I would fit the yodave trigger spring that I had left over from my 455 kit. I just took the stock off and it has a 'Timney USA' trigger fitted. Now I have to figure out how to adjust it Are these triggers any good, I can't say I have heard of them before? It sure is heavy at the moment though
  7. I am looking out for a synthetic stock for my CZ455, with heavy barrel, if anyone has one spare.
  8. Got my Mossberg 500 for sale in the classifieds, will down to just my 12g then :(
  9. I am doing a project for college and have decided to do it on comparing the three above types of rifle for pest control. The project is pretty broad so most information is useful. I know a bit already, but am struggling with some good sources i can use and reference (the current task is to do a literature review). Does anyone know of any hidden gems of information that would be useful to me, be it a website that goes into detail about trojectories and energy or maybe some good books that are worth me reading? Also is there much in the range of free software for calculating bullet / pellet drop? Thanks, Lewis
  10. Quite common really and easily get a good one in op's budget. Cost the misses £700 to insure her first year, free tax and the parts are cheap and plentiful. Plus very easy to fix and 40mpg average easily. Great first car IMO and not a car to be bombing about in
  11. Took my .410 Pump out clay shooting yesterday for the first time, and i'm happy to say that i actually hit some It was a lot more capable than i realised actually, definitely getting a bit more confidence in it.
  12. Away, busy and generally rushing around. Got out shooting today though for the first time in a month so thought I should drop back in
