another vote for keeping still. a face veil wouldn't do any harm and i find a dead rabbit for bait is better, tear its guts open slightly and place a couple of decoys close to it. make sure your decoys are not shiny.

i agree with wymberley and robin128. pattern testing the gun is a good place to start. also pacing the distance you are shooting at. i realised this with my air rifle shooting, 40 yds can be closer or further than you think. i would deffo pattern the gun though 3/4 and full maybe a tighter pattern than you think with no 6.

my escort is if fine with 65mm carts, just make sure you you keep it clean. in particular the two gas port holes in the barrel and around that area. my escort is 3 inch and around 5 years old.
