  1. The new SE, is a superb piece of kit, especially now it has the "Scorpions" bolt action on the tail. I have the older Ultra, and I am very pleased with it, but would have preferred the bolt action, to the plunger fitted to mine. A very underestimated Air Rifle.
  2. Here's mine; 1. Air Arms S410k 2. Air Arms S200 Mk2 3. BSA Ultra Multi 4. HW100 5. Daystate Huntsman Classic.
  3. Well done , I wish I could crack this 'roosting secret', I think I need a lesson from someone who knows how! BSA SE, , may I inquire which model?
  4. Frustrating isn't it. I went out last evening on an equestrian center 'permission'. Got wet, very muddy, and two bunnies. Mrs said," you'd rather be in a muddy field than in with me", I said " I'd rather be in a mine field. " Ooops! The weather is supposed to improve dramatically in the next week so you can get out with your new rifle.
  5. I bought Bi- Pod 's for my two, but decided I didn't like lying in two inches of mud .So I tried a "Long stick" Much more usable, for me anyway. Bi-pods are still on the guns as they are tops for bench shooting,.and zeroing.
  6. I really liked my AA S410, , for field work, but I like to keep the beautiful woodwork scratch and dent free so climbing over barbed wire fences, etc worried me greatly. After watching Si's BSA Ultra test , I bought a BSA Ultra .22 Tactical Multi shot, had a Regulator fitted by Tench, (to both the Ultra and My S200), The Ultra is light , compact, and if it catches a scratch or two , its not the end of the world. I get 60 shots at 11.4 ftlbs, using JSB Exact. Then it drops of the regulator. I would thoroughly recommend a BSA Ultra. Cheap new , cheaper secondhand. The Springer I would recommend is the HW95K, what a piece of kit. Light for a springer, comes with a moderator, and way better than a BSA Lightning.
  7. I do all of my pest control alone, so the 'Mentor' bit could be problem. Doh!
  8. Mentor? excuse the dummy whats a mentor???
  9. The problem for the enforcers of any new regulations would be the number of air weapons already out there, and how to account for them. Maybe an amnesty , to start with? Who knows. My ex , has a bird feeder in her garden, which regularly has visiting songbirds laying dead close by,shot with .177 pellet. We cannot find out who's doing it, or who owns a rifle in the vicinity. So regulation may be a good thing, but on the other hand I dislike regulation for the sake of it.
  10. Try living with a vegetarian, and being a hunter. No meat passes her lips,( of any kind)
  11. I only have a shotgun cert at this moment in time, so would need to apply for a FAC. Thanks for the info chaps.
  12. Now excuse me for being a dummy, but if I want to apply to own an FAC air rifle, is it a different application than for a rimfire etc? Could it be kept in the shotgun cabinet, with my shotguns legally? The reason I ask, is I have several permissions, two of which are on golf courses, where there is no cover. So the 35mtr range of the 12ftlbs air rifles that I use at present is just a little less than I need. A bullet rifle would be over the top, as there would be issues with overshoots etc. Can anyone advise please?
  13. Ah, In that case , its all down to your estimate of how much shooting you intend to do?.. And , How big is the secure storage facility that you have? Take an educated guess and, add some , just in case your a bit low. If you are hunting you wont need as many as if you are target shooting. .
  14. A face to face purchase, without asking for proof of ID or address, Reg No? What if it was stolen? And what if the gun didn't work? For £750? Err, sounds a little unwise. But, I have seen people happily hand over bank account numbers and sort codes, just because someone in a office has asked for them!
  15. A Nikko Sterling Bipod, for my BSA Ultra, And some Superdome pellets. If you want somewhere safe and fun, to use a crossbow, try an NFAS club. (Simulated Hunting)
  16. My Regulated AA S200 177 seems to prefer RWS Superdomes, Whereas the Reg'd BSA Ultra prefers JSB Jumbo exacts. Its what works for you and your rifle as a combination. There are so many other things that have to be considered when you get to your permission, that can affect an accurate shot and achieve the clean kill we all must desire. (My humble uninformed opinion only)
  17. Good Luck with the application . I would put 10,000 on it , and if questioned reply with "if your going to be stupid then so will I". No seriously , if you had ammunition for a sub 12ft/lbs air gun it would also be suitable for a FAC air gun, Who could say which pellet is for which gun? So leaving it blank, IS the correct option.
