  1. ehb 102 said ; If anyone has mental trigger flinch and wants to have a shot at getting rid of it rekon I can help : she or he also said ; The methods I have in my tool box treat every single case individually and find every single cause.; So, what you do when the trigger freeze is not mental but belongs to other category of causes that I know, I know 4-5 of them?? I can list at least 45-50 causes of trigger freeze, followed by flinching ,other than mental one , that belongs to those 4-5 categories? What is your expertise to separate the mental trigger freeze from the others? Thanks !
  2. There are many reasons to miss a target and the help over the internet many times won,t work. However, from what you say I understand that your vision, in waiting position, is close to the barrel and the bird beats you all the timp . There is a logic to that situation, having a narrow visual screen around the barrel, you see the bird late. Your reaction time from the moment of the bird interception is not fast enough to catch the bird from behind. Considering that your gun holding point is correct, move your eyes on the left of the barrel to see the bird early enough to react properly. Keep the barrel in the peripheral vision and when you notice that the bird is close to the barrel match your gun speed with the bird. Never let the bird to beat your barrel, (especially from the high house). Good luck!
  3. Lets just put sporting clays in Olympics ;and he will have a broader recognition.;
  4. If you you are visualy clean, both eyes is the ticket! If not, sorry!
  5. I read that Phil Coley did a study on flinching,2011, Do you know where I can find the conclusions of that study?? Please post the link ! Thank you.,
  6. Here is an other question; How many of you get cure after you encountered trigger freeze combined with flinch ?? Please share your experience. Thank you!
  7. How is the UK law regarding the relelase trigger? It is allowed and what are the restrictions?
  8. Liz ,thank you! From a shotgun coaching prospective, do you know autors( coaches)that wrote books about how to diagnose and cure trigger freeze, produced by all kind of causes?? I am interested in the practical solution of the cure used in UK Thanks!
  9. ehb 102 I got it you are dealing with trauma but no the cause of it! How you can fix a trauma if you don,t know the cause of it?? How I understand is , if you have fever take an Aspirin, but you don,t cure the cause of the fever! Am I wrong??
  10. The studies of flinching for other shooting disciplines are intereting and helpfull to understand the process, I am looking SPECIFICALLY for flinching studies regarding the shotgun disciplines. The still and moving targets make the difference on why and how flinching occurs during the shooting action. Thank you, keep them coming!
  11. you guys, do you know any studies regarding shotgun trigger freeze?? If yes, can you mentioned them?? I repeat, only SHOTGUN related trigger freeze, flinching?? Thanks!
  12. As I know, ;Flinching;is the result of a trigger freeze. If you can,t pull the trigger you will flinch, jerk, throw the gun. etc. Now, the causes of trigger fresze are several, I suppose, so the trigger freeze, caused by mental factors have some specifics to be sorted out. What are the causes of mental trigger freeze and how you diagnose them other than speculating and eliminating other factors??? As I understand you are an expert, so I would like to learn!
  13. ehb you said ;When all other options have failed; what kind of options are you refer to and who is solving them before you conclude that is a mental flinching? When you say mental you refer to brain memory or some psyhological problem??
  14. ehb, what causes the mental trigger flinch and how you are sure that is... mental and not from other aspects involved in the shooting process. In other words, how do you diagnose a mental flinch ??
  15. How you define flinching and what are the causes of it?
  16. cranfield, by definition hunting is a stessfull thing for any animal. The ethical problem is to give him a chance to save his life and nothing else. In all of my examples of ; controlling; foxes, the fox has a chance and that,s all about sportmanship! Regards Bill
  17. From an ethical point of view, lamping and night hunting is not acceptable in many EU countries. like it was considered in UK before 1948. Once a victim is blinded, looses vision ,orientation and the chance to save his own life. A political decision changed the status of the fox from game to pest. How subjective is that! Based on that act, the foxes are already condamed to dead , You put foxes along rats !!. I guess that is offensive if you are a true hunter and not just a killer. There are other ( human) forms of fox controlling , like driving, using dogs, day time calling, over the bait.( without blinding them) In fact everything comes down between you and that poor hopless victim. Sportmanship? I don,t think so. Bill
  18. Lets make this clear,I am not a fanatic environmentalist I am a day time hunter. What we are talking here is a matter of ethical problem. I want to learn from you, where is the fairplay in this lamping execution style of ; hunting; It,s like you put the headlight between the eyes of a deer and push the gas pedal. Can somebody bring some arguments in favor of lamping, from an ethical point of view??? Bill
  19. If you are considering them pest, which are not, knowing how many gnawers they are eating each year, including rabbits. why not just poison them, instead to execute them. Poisonning is not a human treatment ,by your standards and has nothing to do with sportmanshift, I guess, compared with a deliberate execution on which you can give to the poor fox a chance, when .......you miss the shot. Now that,s sportmanship ! Once you ; control; the foxes, the rabbits nr goes up becomming pests as well. It is a ;controled; sportmanship , right? What you think?? Bill
  20. What is the deal to put the lights between the eyes of a standing animal and pull the trigger?? What I am missing here ?? I call foxes day time and I give them a chance if they catch a scent of mine on the wind or a movement. I am happy with that. The fox gets my admiration and I end up with a bitter smile. Getlemen never should hunt night time, that,s for poachers. Bill
  21. Nicknsd1978, If you understand the function of the easyhit then I don,t think you need one. Easyhit was made to correct cross dominance by catching the ;on; eye with the barrel. Well, unfortunatelly ;the sides; effects to use one cancel the entire value of it. Having one on the gun, will teach you to check the barrel anytime you mount the gun by swtiching focus from the target to the barrel. You have to consider that the cross dominate person sees not only the bead but the barrel and the reciever as well. In other words the cross dominance will stay in place anyway. Remember, we point the gun when shooting moving targets and we aim when shooting still targets. If you aim a moving target you will shoot always under your potantial. If you are cross dominate then there are other ways to help you. If you are, first thing to start with is switchingt sides on which you mount the gun for the purpose to work with your dominate eye and binocular vision. Don,t forget to fit the gun if you change sides. Good luck!
  22. roadkill, make sure 1) find out if you are cross dominate, indeed 2)see a gun fitter to check if you mount the gun correctly and you have a fitted gun Report back!
  23. Look for an acomplished coach who can put him on a correct technique to avoid bad habits. Once he learn how to control his shooting he will enjoy shooting all his life. No matter how talented he is, the bad habits will limit his performances down the road.
