  1. Unfortunately that is no longer guaranteed! There is a roundabout at the end of the Matford Link road by the Devon Motel where traffic taking the 3rd exit which is one beyond straight on is directed to take the inside lane. Its accidents waiting to happen as if you are coming the other way you have no idea if they are turning left, going straight on or are going to pass in front of you on the roundabout as so few signal their intentions nowadays.
  2. Caravans have both gas and mains electricity installations and so need to be maintained to be safe. Gas exhaust fumes produce deadly carbon monoxide so the rubber pipes need to be replaced regularly and the other parts of the system tested for leaks etc. A full service from a professional fitter to cover both mechanical and habitation aspects on a home visit need not cost more than £160 plus parts.
  3. The caravan maximum laden weight should not exceed 85% of the kerbweight of the car to be safe otherwise the caravan will dominate the car and you risk getting into a terminal snake and writing everything off.
  4. I expect Ian Coley's at Cheltenham will have a demo gun that you could go and try.
  5. What about rearing chicks for sale to chicken farmers and also to gamekeepers for pheasant shoots etc. You have the buildings. Don't know a lot about it myself but had a mate once whose Dad was into it and it was very profitable.
  6. Thank you very much Phil for the 2 Bowman double traps, spares and bases which I am sure will be able to be put to very good use at our club up on Dartmoor.
  7. Hi I'm a Robert from Newton Abbot, Devon and belong to Two Bridges Clay Shooting Club on Dartmoor. I am sure that we would welcome these and I am very happy to collect them. I am a member of CPSA but not BASC but I daresay that we have some members who belong to BASC. Am I in with a chance for our club? Robert
  8. Do a search on Google on the address and its an accommodation address. looks like a con to me as others are reporting problems I should cancel your direct debit! Perhaps report to Trading Standards
  9. Yes and very pleased with it. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Great bit of kit, keeps the gun out of the mud and wet and can left broken in the case when the legs are out. There is a small pocket for chokes etc but could do with one for the personal waterproofs like small carry golf bag. Nice and light with carry handle and shoulder strap and legs pop out when you put it down. Keeps the gun dry when raining and has fleecy lining to protect the gun. Get one you will not be disappointed. Has fixings for a golf brolly if you don't buy theirs.o
  10. Too early yet You might see one at the Shooting Show at Stoneleigh in February
  11. In my experience a landlord concerned that his property is dilapidated and the tenant has not fulfilled the obligations put on him in the lease can appoint someone to inspect the property, prepare a schedule of dilapidations, priced up plus the costs of conducting the survey and the costs of having someone supervise the work being done and the tenant will either have to do the work to the landlords satisfaction or do a deal for cash at say 50% if he is vacating at the end of the lease. Otherwise the tenant must bring the property back to its original condition when it was first leased at his own expense. If the roof does not need doing or is not as bad as the landlord's surveyor suggests then you need an expert to argue that case. If your surveyor has been engaged as an expert witness then he is an officer of the court and bound to give an unbiased professional opinion to the court. I would imagine that if the landlord is found to have inflated his claim and you win the case then he might be held liable to pay your costs and those of your solicitor and surveyor or at least part of them.
