  1. I have had my Logun pump for 8 years without any issues whatsoever, My Webley FX2000 has worked flawlessly with it.
  2. I have a Webley FX2000, deadly accurate, silent in .22 . I have a stirrup pump which is lightweight and transportable, it takes about 50 pumps to bring it up to max load (200 bar). PCPs are a pleasure to fire ans easy to maintain. Most are adjustable for use with FAC up to 34ft/lbs,
  3. Got my Beretta from Bond & Byewater, very helpful. Have a good shoot guys
  4. Hmmm. Was not sure whether there were any crops, I know there are some over towards Yorkshire. I suppose I will stick to the circular black variety (pigeon). Why did I leave the midlands?
  5. Hi John, glad you enjoyed it, we certainly did. Hope that we can do it again very soon.
  6. Does anyone need a partner shooting pigeons in the Ribble Valley, I have my own shotgun and would like to get some live quarry rather than clays. I will supply cartridges. I'm not expecting too many replies, as it is very quiet on the pigeon front at the moment. Thanks
  7. Lets get some multi coloured ones going, 'tutu fruity magnum'
  8. cant beat being 'hung in the right places'
  9. Business opportunity there, Dragons Den await
  10. YELLOW! Good luck with the yellow cases and good luck with finding that 20bore cartridge that slipped in by mistake 20s fit ever so nicely down in the forcing cones of a 12 bore
  11. A mate of mine lit one in his hand when I was a lad, spent about an hour with his hand in the canal as I remember. I think I almost peed my pants laughing, loved bangs from then on.
  12. I have used Portek in the past, the Magnum day ropes are extra loud. just a note of caution never light them off the rope, the stubby fuse has about 1.5 second delay . Type Portek into google, good luck
  13. Keep trying the rabbit, you will get the hang of it and find they are very satisfying. Good look recruiting the new members
  14. Never an easy decision, if my boys could get into the local Grammar in a few years it would save me a fair few quid. There is only one thing you can give your kids and that is a decent education, either paid for or state funded, nobody can take it away from you when you leave school and try to find a job.
  15. For £1,300 it would certainly be a nice gun so long as the bores are clean . What about a miroku
  16. The common entrance exam has no bearing whatsoever (so long as it is passed), that just puts you into the category 'available to pick from', the Grammar school will then select the best of these. Independent schools have an entrance exam that indicates the level you are at, they will always consider students who are not A* grade. Life as we all know is 30% what you know and 70% who you know, so long as you are not a numpty you can do almost anything so long as you have been taught good manners, how to get on with other people and you are ambitious.
  17. I personally would go for the Beretta again, you said it fitted well; resale values are strong (browning also I must add) and build quality is very good. With over 55% market share they must be doing something right, it is your decision we will just give you an opinion from personal experience. Just make sure it feels right when you look down the rib.
  18. As everyone has said, use whatever will comfortably kill the quarry you are after at the range you are shooting. If the pigeon is sitting in front of you shoot it with anything you can find in your coat pocket so long as you kill it.
  19. Please also remember that public/independent schools usually take all applicants, the local Grammar school is likely to pick the best of the crop which inflates there success rate over the public/independent schools. Both my boys attend independent day school and thoroughly enjoy the smaller class sizes, extra curricular activities and the emphasis that is put into good manners & respect for your fellow students. BTW my oldest son 8yo is in a class of 15 and my youngest 6yo is in a class of 12. It is a personal decision that a lot of people scoff at for there own reasons, if you want to pay for your children's education and save your taxpaying friends money then you should be congratulated. DO WHAT YOU WANT, WE ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE THE CHOICE!
  20. No **** Sherlock, just seeing the funny side where we can. On the subject of shot, I use 30g No6 lead, fibre wad. Have used bismuth on occasion.
  21. I would like to see 32g of propellant being fired, blunderbuss me thinks? I think the word Rocket would be a fair description.
  22. Watch your chokes if shooting steel, I never use anything tighter than 1/4. would anyone disagree with this? ..........
  23. Hi John, I used to live in Read and have now moved to near Clitheroe, I usually shoot at Kelbrook and would be happy to meet up sometime, do you have your certificate etc? Send me a private message with your details and I will get in touch. Cheers Gerard
