  1. Either find someone with a pistol for humane dispatch, or shotgun would do the job, just make sure your discrete about it. Not something you want general public to see, even if you are within the law its not worth the hassle. You could release it, but your just going to **** someone else off!
  2. An hour and a half where you going west moorlands? I was out last night lamping so only just seen it so may have been up for had I seen it yesterday. Looking at the weather should have been a good morning.
  3. Why feel bad, a free days outing and real shooting. The days you don't get anything is what keep you coming back and that elusive chase. If it was easy there be no fun in it. 4000 acres isnt to shabby do you have FAC as well, sound like you could have some good stalking!
  4. I think both work on the premisis that you need to know someone that is a member to get on the list. Lytham you must live within a 5 miles of the marsh. MBWF list is around 7 years iv heard. West morlands are the most open to look at as there on the Web, but you must have a full member to sponser you and once again to teach you the tidal patterns. The long and short of wildfowling is in the north west it's a long waiting list and if you dont know someone that is a member, you will find it very hard to get in as this is the person that will tell you how to contact the members secetery and sign your application as mentor. Take you out on your day tickets and teach you the way of the marsh and bird identification etc etc. Its not easy, there more secretive than the masons! best of luck.
  5. Are you meaning Lytham and District Wilfowlers?
  6. If its pistol pyro, this even has a modification buy the militey to take a 12g shogun cart and was used as clear/scare birds from airfields. This is no longer in service. So on this basis with its capabilty it should be handed in. My FEO on his last visit mentioned he had a case of the little mini flaires, and said these must be registered as well, something todo with a case of convertion to fire .22 We were talking shop....
  7. That depends on the weapon. A rotating bolt, gas operated weapon will, a recoil operated pistol won't. Recoil operated just so you know its known as blowback in ref to pistol such as the L9A1 So as you know the browning L9A1 for instance I suggest you get on TDOL go have a look at AESP. 1005-E-210-201 This will list the mechanical safeties and applied, along with how it functions from loading firing e.t.c Im sure from there you can the work out how the firing pin work within the slide and come's through the breech face and what affect it has and what the spring does and what affect it would have if its two strong or weak, take a look in the inspection standards if need be (It doesn't have a bolt) Feel free to look in the 711 parts cat and send me the NSN for a bolt. Im sure you know a few things about a rifle/pistol etc with some C**p that you have read in a skill at arms book. But to be honest what you have said has no relevance to what the OP has asked about. Oh hang on, we teach that to week 1 recruits.... I Guess your in day 4 then? I Think you should stick to field stripping and getting a pull through stuck once in a while. Pointing it down range and saying bang. Oh an donuts are fab yum yum, But im more in to JAFFA cakes (just another fat f* armourer) which of the people I have meet on the forum know im far from.
  8. This isn't common in military weapons. Are you an armourer? If so I suggest you get you FFP gauge out and check said weapons. Both of the above posters don't have a clue on the weapon systems and the way they are constructed. If they did they would be having the current argument and no doubt be telling you which systems have fixed FP's and there is no spring what so ever oh let me think GPMG. What happens in the SA80 rotating through 22.5 deg and how this is done through the action of the cam stud blah blah blah I could go on but I cant be bothered..... OP I Sugest you give it to your local gun smith, its only a small job of checking the firing pins and possibly stoning them down to required length in keeping with the profile. Happy shooting.
  9. Very good offer, cant complain at that just a shame I live at the other end of the country!
  10. The discount wasn't with taclight.co.uk But with Dereelight so you should be ordering of http://www.nightmaster.co.uk Well I wouldn't have put the discount code on the internet, as it would't surprise me if people outside PW have ordered kit and the codes gone round the houses. Anyway, good deal shame I missed it!
  11. Ok, I remember reading it was through till 30th April that was all. I have already sent them an e-mail. So fingers crossed I get someone happy on a monday morning that fancy letting me have it!
  12. Where has this topic gone? Night Master 800 Discount for PW members - Guns & Equipment ... Can someone PM me the Discount code please. Its ok iv looked through my cached web pages and now got the discount code!
  13. Diemaco has been issued to some para reg, but there isn't many. I could dig out the C351, but you will just have to take my word for it as the inspecting officer. Anyone with an ounce of mechanical knowledge, could convert the cadet rifle to make it automatic. All the SA80 variates are compatible to each other, the cadet kit is effectively our war stock. Its a poor weapon in some respects, but great for it job role, and extremely robust hence why the inspection period was upped from 6month to a year except modacs and ancils. If we issued all the infantry with Diemacos, I never have a time to drink a brew and play warhammer in my seller, Id be forever fixing them.
  14. Well as a serving Class 1 armorer I have never touched an Issued Air rifle, the cadet forces have them. I would say the amount you know is how to google SAS and stick a picture on your profile, just like ever other walt.
  15. Shame i'm not stationed over there anymore, be a good moonlighting job.
  16. Are you local to Rasen, Iv just noticed your age, I went to De aston in Rasen and lived there for a number of years. Still have friends and family in the area. Good luck with your shoot!
  17. Im off but to far for such a long period, hope you find someone to help you out.
  18. http://www.homeoffic...ook?view=Binary The bible on security for fire arms. You dont need to replace your old cabinet if it is up to the job, details are clear in annex C 2.1 The security of firearms, section 1 ammunition and shotguns within a dwelling can in most cases be achieved using a cabinet designed for this purpose. New cabinets should conform to the requirements of BS7558 (see Annex C for examples on points of construction). The cabinet should be fixed to the structure and located to frustrate attack or identification by persons visiting the premises. BS7558 was introduced in 1992 but many older cabinets will be built to perfectly satisfactory standards and, if satisfactory, need not be replaced.
  19. I would change you sear design slightly, also have a second (safety) bent incase you don't fully cock it to prevent a misfire. Will not be long before you melting wax on the cooker stinking the house out and sealing your wads in. What did you do the action of the mech on SolidWorks? An nice punt!
  20. Glad it got past, looks like your FEO showed common sense, and took into account where it was located and risk of where your living etc. Just wondering you said it was floor mounted, did you secure the back at all? I was only floor mounted into a concert floor, very secure in a cupboard under my stairs. An you would have needed arms of steel to pull it over and forces it out the ground, but had to secure the rear as well. Not that I was bothered, It was a 20min job if that. Im think if you want to get FAC in the future though you will need to get a second cabinet to BSA standards, but you can use the one you have now for putting you bolts in and ammo.
  21. Gutted I missed this! Iv anyone pulls out let me know! Im off all this month as well!
  22. Dogs 14.22 Section 9 of the Animals Act 1971 provides a defence for shooting a dog if the defendant acted to protect livestock, and subsequently informs the police within forty- eight hours of the incident. The defendant can only act in defence of livestock in such a way if the livestock, or the land on which it is, belongs to them or to any other person under whose express or implied authority they are acting. 24. There are 3 FEO for Lancashire, Iv had the pleasure of meeting two. I had one visit last week as moved house. Top guy made him a brew had a chat, did the questions in about that, looked at storage etc. Was there about 1 hour. But it can take as little as 5 mins. Very helpful, and approachable.
