  1. I haven't the room for the extra rifle or the money. So just one allrounder.
  2. I'm very much leaning towards the 6.5, but having not witnessed one in action I'm unsure,
  3. Basically I have had a centre fire ticket for nearly 10 years and have had deer, fox and alq on it for the last five, have owned a 223 and now looking to upgrade, mainly fox and roe on my ground but a friend I shoot with has red so I'm looking for a good all round calibre. I don't shoot the amount of foxes I used to so I'm only knocking over a few here and there so a larger calibre isn't going to be a hindrance.
  4. I'm looking for an all round rifle that I can use lamping aswel as stalking for roe up to red. What's your opinion?
  5. Congratulations, you certainly earned it, jules and motty you are gents for helping the man out. Nice to see
  6. I got mine through sportsmans in Exeter. Entwystle guns ( might not be spelt like this) are the main importer for the uk, price wise vary considerably, mostly advertised for 790 plus but I only paid 590 and a coupe of mates got them cheaper than that again,I suppose it depends how freindly u are with your local gun trader. For me I was fortunate that they owed me for a faulty gun I'd purchased so they gave a good discount
  7. My friends got one and he loves it. I'm picking mine up on tuesday and will be out with it on Wednesday.
  8. Cheers Andy I'll have a look,is there a link to the forum, tried before a few times and can't seem to get on it. The weight issue shouldn't be a problem as I've used a zabala 10 for years, , I'm think more along the lines of reliability and rust issues.
  9. Thinking of getting one of these, what's your views on it, I love side by sides and I think this is right for me, obviously it's going to kick like a mule but I'm a big lad so I can deal with that, my mate has one but hasn't used it enough to give a good opinion.
  10. Winchester sxp, has a 3 1/2 chamber, very reliable. 350 notes will get you a new one.
  11. Several years ago when lead ban came in I borrowed my uncle 10 bore and some rather rattle sounding bismuth cartridges, a skein of canadas came over the other side of a large tree that I was next too, I shot 1 with the first in front of the tree then fired through a gap in the branches at leading bird with the second, thought I'd missed so sent the dog for the fallen goose which he got, then went and retrieved 3 more, never witnessed anything like that before, was not a happy man with all that weight on my back on the walk home. 12. Me and the misswe are just planning a trip to the orkneys for New year and on the way back I was hoping to fit in a flight on the Friday morning (2nd) . Was wondering if there are any locals on this sight that wouldn't mind me tagging along for the above flight, don't want to go it alone as I won't have a dog with me. Any help will be much aappreciated. Cheers. Ross.

  20. I'd love to get amongst the diver ducks. Pochard and goldeneye are still illusive to me. Had 1 chance at a goldeneye Drake on the Bedford washes years ago and I missed it. And also whitefront I've never came across.
