  1. Honest. It gets even better:- You need an explosives licence (form F) for black powder, and it has to be kept safe. I can store 10Kg of nitro next to the fire place if I wish. :but:
  2. Most gun shops can get the bits, Adenbourne nr oxford do lots of powders and bits. European powders can be cheaper. If you are near linconshire try http://www.claygame.co.uk. You dont even need a shotgun cert.
  3. To home load it cost around 100/1000. I started loading my own to get subsonic game loads for my Hushpower. However when i got trhe machine it came with powder for about 4000 rounds, primers for 400, shot for 500. and wads the same. The cases last for between 2 and 6 reloads, gamebore blue dimond are one of the best cases. For most types of shooting it costs more to load your own, and you hace all the hassel. ocasionaly I get duff ones where the end of the cartridge is slightly belled or the base has not resized properly, these jam!
  4. I have to say the flask. But also the hide, deeks, and somthing to sit on. Oh yes and the 22rf so when the pigeons arnt around I can throw out a cartridge and soot it around the field. This has the added benifit of attracting every pigeon for miles around, but the all disapear when I pickup the shot gun :grumpy:
  5. Justcartridges have plastic at 84/100 fibre at 90/1000. when I run out of HB I will give them a try. http://www.justcartridges.com/JC%20Brand%20Prices.htm
  6. Eley HB pigeon 6.5 32g fibre £98/1000. Or home loads about £20/1000 (I got a lot of components from a widow for next to nothing )
  7. I use eley HB pigeon fibre. 32g 6.5 shot they are quite punchy but cheap. But most of the time I use home loads (made some the otherday that had quite a crack VERY fast)
  8. The foam ones work, but i found it best to change them as soon as you have a pair of dead ones nigel
  9. Just started using a rotor, and was thinking exactly the same thing. I have found that a traditional patern with the rotor about 15 yards away from the hide and OUTSIDE the patern works. The little darlings will be attracted by the rotor and land in the patern, if you dont croud them out with the rotor. Nigel

Yep It was sporting gun that did for me
  11. Had a dog run off with a flexicoy on sunday, walker and dog ran away when a big guy in camo jumps out of hide and shouts "b***er off" waving a splendid bennelli at him. Wiped the slobber off (god that shines in the sun) once the dog droped it, and replaced in patern, no harm done. Do have the smaller raptors hitting the dead birds never the plastic ones! so i expect the pigeons can also tell the difference.
  12. Had a bit of a slow week-end, got 11, and noted when selecting ones for the rotor that only 4 had neck bands. Are the one without bands this years young?
  13. A chap is selling 12V 14 Ahr batteries for 14.99+ vat on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=1380275602 hurry he has 50 but it ends tonight. PS its not me
  14. I found a very cheap rotor £65 at the midland fair. I have a few 12V 7 Ah bateries and looked at the loading. No birds on rotor .9A S+N foam pigions 1.1A Dead pigeons (ok a pair of shoes) 1.4 A I recon this must hold true for most of the wiper based rotors (nearly all but the pinewood). so the best I will get is about 4Hrs with pigeons and 6 ish with the S+N. As most experts recon you should never take a lead acid below 50% I will have to take 2 or three bateries with me. its a good job I can drive along the edges of most of the fields 8)
  15. Sorry Chaps cant meet at the N+S stand as I have to go on Saturday (had an invite to break clay on Sunday). I will have a look at the N+S stand their stuff looks quite good but no piccy of a rotor on the web page. Cheers Nigel
  16. Hi Chaps, Ive lurked for a bit, but now I have a question. ever since using a pigeon magnet on a days shoot, my own decoying seams realy lame. So I want to get a rotor at the midland show at the weekend. The magnet seems very expensive, are the cheaper ones any good? Nigel
