  1. Yeah they are they last far longer than any other I have used
  2. Would they? Force policy may prohibit them from carrying multi tools but would a court rule that they have no 'reasonable excuse' given the dynamic role they fulfil? You are right though it seems hypocritical
  3. It's the intention of the individual who has possession of the article that counts, it matters not it wasn't indented by the manufacturer to kill someone, the fact the person holding it used it for such means it falls in the intended category. A locking blade is an offensive weapon regardless.
  4. Keep the leather man out of arms reach preferably in the boot with other tools then you have a far stronger defence. Keep the leather man out of arms reach preferably in the boot with other tools then you have a far stronger defence. And never ever accept a caution
  5. Each set of circumstance is different and dependant on the individual being searched and the police officer conducting the search.Should he have had a knife in the door pocket? No not really its not an excuse to just forget unfortunately, but the officer could show some discression couldn't he/she. But then we don't know how your mate was or how experienced the officer was so its impossible to judge the rights and wrongs of it.
  6. I agree some are but then when you are accostomed to a level of dedication and professionalism and you go back to civvy life you realise how a large proportion of the population are lazy and incompetent and expect the world handed to them on a platter. It works both ways I suppose, some squaddies are **** holes, that's why the military has its own police, wouldn't be necessary if everyone in uniform was decent.
  7. Made, intended or adapted. So a pen knife would be intended not made for the purpose. A baton or knuckle duster for instance are made for a sole reason and therefore an offensive weapon per se. Adapted could be anything that is modified,
  8. Not Seen anything below £250 keeping my eyes peeled for a good deal
  9. I really want one of these but people want a fortune for them
  10. Find some land around Lincolnshire to actually shoot on
  11. Fully understand, conspiracy theorists say sadaam was only ousted because he was moving to the Euro instead the Dollar and such a move would have crippled the US economy, not sure how true it is but I can well believe it.
  12. Agree in part especially in relation to the western involvement, disagree on the fact these nations would be peaceful without interference. They have never been peaceful corruption and greed are endemic and tribal wars have raged since time began, and always will do in my opinion l. Having seen more than one ME country firsthand I can honestly say that the educated meme era of those communities tend to be far more western, but education is sorely lacking and because of that the vast majority of the population are stuck in the Middle Ages. We don't kill our way out of a conflict, we educate the locals and empower them to create their nations future. That said, unfortunately we will always need (as a nation) the capability and the will to take life professionally and proficiently, and sometime it's necessary to exert our influence to negate future risk
  13. Did we ever expect anything else to happen, world super powers had their work cut out dealing with the Taliban, a third world tin pot army like the ANA never had a chance. Corruption and greed rule in Afghan and it won't change no matter how much the west wants it to. Best thing we could have done was install a strong no messing King who could slowly install democracy over 50 years or so, on Islamic terms, this would have given the Afghans ownership of their own system whilst still having sufficient fear in the state to behave.
  14. Being arrested is not a conviction so should not have a negative impact upon your ongoing life. However I will concede that it May in specific circumstances
  15. Or if someone reports a suspicious person or they run a campaign targeting knife crime. I fully support self defence by any means, better tried by 12 than carried by 6, but you need to think long game and that's why with the right knife and a remotely reasonable excuse you would never be convicted, arrested yes, but a conviction is what you want to avoid, arrest means nothing. Just to say though I hate the UK attitude and the generic fear that is spread regarding honest ordinary people carrying a knife or firearm.
  16. This is true, I carry a small knife walking the dog and boy we make walking sticks and such like.
  17. Thanks I clearly didn't read the post sufficiently
  18. It's not illegal, if you have a reasonable excuse, I forgot won't cut it though you are right. But the police need a reason to stop and search you anyway so if you are behaving it's unlikely you will ever be stopped and searched It's an offensive weapon only without lawful authority or reasonable excuse.
