  1. I have the Affinity and its happened to me a few times, after a good clean it works fine but still feels "sticky" ? I looked at a new one at the NEC show and it was loads better .... really smooth. Maybe there is an upgraded part we need?
  2. So i've bee amazed at the response, i want to thank everyone for there ideas. I like the Gamo junior hunter but i think it might be a little big so im going to look for the Crosman 760. I have seen a few you tube videos and it looks ok for a young lad to start with. Hopefully ill have soom feed back on how the boy is getting on soon!
  3. Hi everyone, thanks for all the comments. I'll take a look at the weekend
  4. Hey GC that sounds like the ticket as I’m not after half inch groups at 30 meters just something that he can have some fun with while learning how to handle a gun safely. anyone out there had/used anything like this?
  5. Hi Guys thanks for all the reply's, the Weihrach HW30 is a little expensive as i have no idea if my boy will like shooting or not. i'm not too keen on the Crosman Ratcatcher as its powered off those CO2 canisters and I've never really had much experience with them. I'll keep looking and see if i can find something simple and easy to use (learn) with. I'm sure i'm not the only parent who wants to introduce his children to airguning? There must be a sub £100 gun that is suitable for kids?
  6. Hi all, I'm sure this has been covered before but the threads I've seen are all aimed at upgrading kids guns etc in to target grade as where all i want is a nice cheap air rile for my 7 year old. Don't mind paying up to £100 and i'm not too bothered about accuracy really all i need is a nice small gun that a kid can handle and learn gun safety. i'll only be shooting 10 meters and mostly at tin cans , I've seen a STOEGER X3 that's nice but have not shot with airguns for years so would really like some advise please.
  7. If I was spending that money I would expect to wear it all the time or what’s the point? I think it would be a shame if not given the use it was designed for. (Keeping me warm and dry in the field whatever i was doing)
  8. Shooting clothing is getting out of hand; to spend £500 £600 on a jacket is well beyond most people. I have to be honest here even if I had that money I’m not sure I would want to spend it on a jacket that will get covered in all sorts and will probably get ripped by the dreaded barbwire.
  9. I have to say that both my wife and i work full time as many people have to these days and childcare is very difficult and expensive, we generally have reliable childcare but sometimes you do get let down. When this happens I believe that your child must come first and either my wife or I will take holiday leave or unpaid leave to fill in the short fall.
  10. I have to say that i agree that any dog can be dangerous but there are breeds of dogs that were bred for a long time to fight or be very brave/aggressive, these are normally very powerful breeds and I think it’s fair to say stopping a small terrier or similar from attacking/fighting would be far easier to do than one of these so called bull types of dogs as they are a lot stronger than most types. If the owner is not capable of stopping his/her dog the maybe they should not have that type of dog? Just saying
  11. I have met Jenson and had a small conversation with him, I have to say he was first class and a total gentleman
  12. Well said Walshie, I think he comes across as a really poor sports man/person!. last year i felt his attitude was very poor indeed
  13. The Pigeon power i'm using are fiber wads and like i say work very well, i don't have anything against plastic wads but just prefer fiber
  14. Been using them in my semi auto and had brilliant results on Crows
  15. I was going to buy new but have decided against it now as i'm not sure how the residual values will hold up once the new car is out.
  16. Hey guys, thanks for the reply's, im glad your happy with you car JRDS sounds great! The one i have seen is the SE Drive 1.2 petrol model in 2 wheel drive as i don't really need it for driving over the muddy stuff i thought it would be the best option for me. I am a bit worried mind that once the new model comes out that the price of the Yeti will drop like a brick! any thoughts?
  17. As title, there are a good few deals on the Yeti right now but with a new model going to be out at the end of the year do we think its a good buy?
  18. Had mine well over 12 months, I had a few stoppages but a few are my fault not closing the bolt properly and then twice as the cartridge lifter is sticky, I'm hoping that with use the lifter will ease off a bit
  19. Found this on YouTube https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mmvGAfUQ4TM Hope it helps
  20. Lovely shooting there Stevo but I still think if your new to shooting a 12 or 20 bore would be better choice to start with.
  21. Hey Weavers, im not an expert and I know every gun has a time and a place but I think a 410 is not enough for Crows, they are a hard bird so I would go for a 12 bore with a number 6 or 5 shot 30g. Ive not been shooting crows long but that’s what I think from the experience ive had
  22. I was using game bore 32g 6's but found i was injuring a lot of birds, after pattern testing at 30 yards i found that the pattern was very poor, i tried the 29g 6 (pigeon power) and the pattern was loads better and consistent. I had not really done much with patterns before but a few guys on hear advised checking, im glad i did now ! much better results
  23. I've used them for a few months now on crows and find them superb, very hard hitting out to 50 yards
  24. Going to get some pictures next time I go.
