Have finally filled the .308 slot with a sweet Bergara B14 HMR Ordered cleaning rod, bore guide, and vice today- what cleaners/removers/solvents do you guys use for your barrel/bore ? Have already got a Browning Legia Spray and Bisley gun oil, guessing I need bore cleaner, copper remover, carbon remover? TIA

I had interview, ref checks the next day... got excited... got frustrated... gave up thinking it would ever arrive... then licence came through the post 6 months later from D&C- hopefully yours is better than that !

That is me getting confused- I've looked at and added the Cutter/Lock Stud kit to my shopping list but didn't realise it did the job of the trimmer! Starting out is a bit of a minefield- I've reloaded with a couple of mates and spoken to several others and all have their own "this is how you must do it" approach! Sorry, that's me getting confused... Went over my mates and he has a little lathe type thing for trimming the length he said is essential- think he's got the die set that doesn't have the length sizer

Not at all- it was fading for sure but the boys at the club have been great and I just text a request and they'd bring down whatever I fancied from their collections! Spoilt I know- even got to the point I wondered if I needed an FAC with mates like that but it opens up so many doors, and the SGC is a bonus as it saves me relying on other people or borrowing one, I can go whenever I like!!! So are you "approved"? I don't know why the simple admin bit takes SO long

I got a call yesterday from D&C asking have I paid for my application?!! Confirmed I had on 30/7/20 (!) and was told certificates are being produced and will be with me this week. I'm speechless and overjoyed- 720 days since initial application... 6 months since interview and reference checked. It's like they had a deadline to get in before the 2 years. What a long and unduly arduous journey, but thankfully worth the wait... Now who's selling decent rifles and shotguns at a reasonable price?!!

Heard a lot about it but not experienced thankfully. Unfortunately, it seems you won't get an answer as to why unless you go to court and pay about £10k for the privilege 😞 Are they still processing your FAC application?
