  1. I just bought a Panasonic LCD HD. Went for LCD because I think it's a better picture (compared to plasma) and the running consumption is about 115 watts. Same size in plasma would be approx 450 watts. Its got all the bells and whistles, HD 1080, built in digital receiver, smart scarts, and smart standby (1 watt). However, the Sony can't be faulted, I just happened to go Panasonic.
  2. Dammit guys,,, I just lost five minutes of my life watching some obese religious nut ranting at some other folks.
  3. Clay competition, I was straight going to the last pair on the last stand, called my birds (on-report pair) killed the first bird, heard the trap for the second clay, mounted the gun started the swing and my bl**dy mobile phone rang, on vibrate !!!!! Umpire wouldn't give me a no-bird, hardly surprising, but you gotta try.
  4. I agree 100% with Piebob and Tulkyuk, talking with the farmer is your best option.
  5. Years ago, just after wifey No 1 ran off, I was talking with an old farmer friend and he said... "Bad woman is like a bad cow... Best got rid of !.
  6. In the warmer month I run my Pajero on about 30 - 40% veg oil. But from this month on I have to cut it back to a max of 10%, and every third or fourth tank is neat diesel. The problem I get in the colder months is that after starting it will only tick-over for a few minutes, doesn't matter what I do with the throttle, it just ticks !!!
  7. Brace yourself Dazz, it takes time. Been there, know the feeling, and it doesn't help your self respect either. Good luck to you.

  10. A memorial dedicated to those servicemen and women who died since 1948 giving service to their country. No rank, no decorations, just their names in memory. I for one will stand and salute all who gave their lives for our country.
  11. Mrs Twelvebore is Russian, she reads the boards regularly. She thought the 'women drivers' images were hilarious !!!
  12. I have for sale two John Wayne Commemorative replica handguns. One is a plaque mounted M1911A1 Colt .45 ACP, engraved with John Wayne's signature. The other is a Colt .45 Single Action army in stainless, also mounted on a plaque. Both will strip and re-build just like the originals, weights are about the same, and no-way could you ever get these to fire anything. For more info or images, please message me.
  13. Interesting to watch PM's question time today. Yes, Brown mentioned the petition, but then claimed that 26 people had signed it. Is it me, or is the man a born liar ? I know, I know, he's a polibl00dytician, wouldn't know the truth if it jumped up and bit his anal retentive, lie to make a point, do anything to get and stay in power, surround yerself with fawning yes people, deny the populace a chance to vote this **** out of office - to which he was never elected - 'not nice or honest person'. One day I'm gonna swear about a politico, they're all a bunch of.....
  14. 'Borrowed' from another site.... Legendary rider’ Norick Abe dies in motorbike, truck collision Norifumi “Norick†Abe, one of Japan’s most successful motorcycle road racers, collided with a truck while riding a motorbike in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, and died from the resulting injuries after having been taken to hospital Sunday afternoon, the Asahi Shimbun reports. Abe was 32 years old. Local police say the collision occurred on a four-lane municipal road, when the driver of the truck made an illegal U-turn, colliding with Abe who was closing in on the truck from behind on its righ-hand side. The truck driver told police he realized he had mistakenly taken the wrong way, and tried to get back on track. Norifumi Abe was born to the auto racer Mitsuo Abe, and sat on a bike for the first time when he was 5. After finishing elementary school, he spent two years in the United States, perfecting his skills. He won his first Grand Prix title 1996, and went on to conquer the title twice more. Abe, who was also known as Norrick Abe in the English-speaking world and as “the legendary rider†in Japan, had many fans in Japan as well as worldwide.

    4x4's

Hi, If you engage diff lock on tarmac and try to drive it, you'll 'wind up' the transmission and break something. It could be an exceeding expensive repair. Diff flock should only ever be used as a last resort to get you out of trouble when you're off-road.

    what 4x4 ?

Go for diesel, you can't run a petrol on SVO !!

    what 4x4 ?

Just a thought... A friend of mine has a Lexus RX300, fantastic motor, you couldn't complain about anything inside, smooth ride and a 4x4, just not sure if they would come in diesel, or your price range.
  18. Best free image handling software on the net http://www.irfanview.com/ Free download, works with almost anything, and has all the functionality I've ever needed. Probably a google on irfanview would work.
  19. Good luck to you, take care.

    what 4x4 ?

Pajero - same as myself, 2.8 TDi, auto, fully stuffed (climate control, electric everything, adjustable suspension, 4WD on the move, diff locks, etc. etc) and 28 mpg. or Toyota Land Cruiser same as my son-in-law. I can't believe what he does to that car off-road and it still manages to stay in one piece.
  21. I sold a set of browning chokes about a year ago on fleabay, but the auction was pulled and I had a snooty email from them saying I couldn't sell 'firearm components'. I complained like crazy and pointed out that they would also have to ban any small tube which was inert, and the relented and reinstated my listing. But, since that, most times when I list something I get a warning on the final page (in big bold red letters) where it says 'list your item' warning me that it is now against ebay policy to allow an sort of firearm including antiques, models and replicas, also any parts or spares for any type of firearm. I have a suspicion, that there are folk outside of ebay who look for things like this and report the seller immediately. I had three auctions pulled about a month ago for stating... 'this item is advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to cancel this auction'. The three listing were pulled in less than 24 hours. Sod 'em, I took the words out and re-listed. If they'd sold elsewhere, I would have just pulled the auction and upset the potential buyers. Regards the other point ref - paypal. I believe that paypal is now owned by fleabay so they wouldn't want anyone being put off paying through paypal. The last line which used to be here expressing my views re: ebay and paypal has been removed as it may have offended some readers.
  22. My pleasure, now tell us where the carp are feeding, the pigeon are landing or the geese are flighting .....
