  1. Was interested in your cartridges that you have for sale, but think you are quite a bit over the top, with your pricing as these cartridges can be bought for £230 in the shops, so no incentive to buy yours. Maybe have a think on the price or just use them.
  2. Long Shot, but what I am looking for is a mint condition semi auto Rimfire Magic .22LR fitted with a Volquartsen 16" carbon wrapped barrel complete with muzzle break. All this fitted into a RH thumbhole stock. If you have one and considering selling then please send photo and price to mjjennings@hotmail.co.uk Thanks
  3. I use 24grains of Hodgson H335 with 55g V Max bullets, in my .Tikka T3 in 223 calibre with 20 inch barrel, this gives 2800 FPS. and not had any complaints from Mr Fox. However if I was just starting out reloading I would look at using Vhit powder as its cheaper and more readily available, maybe go this route myself if can be bothered to do the load development once again Get your mate who is lending you the gear to give you some tuition first so that you know exactly what to do. its not rocket science !! By the way this is a hobby in itself !!
  4. Hi. PM sent regarding the new .308 Lapua cases Mike
  5. Had a really good day out with Darren yesterday, top person and very easy to get on with. Thanks Mike
  6. I use my Sako Quad 22LR fitted with Hawke 4-16x 50 scope on golf course's to which I have found that I can not get as near to the bunnies as I would like, as they see me and are off. So what I have done is experiment with using the scopes mildots as an aiming point, only thing one needs to do is have accurate distances, since I am not too good at guessing them I have invested in a range finder. Therefore this is what I have found and works for me. 35m -- 2 mildots up 50m -- 1 mildot up 75m -- Zero 85m -- 1 mildot down 100m -- 2mildots down Using eley subsonics as found them to be very accurate in this rifle Mike
  7. When I saw it was the Stobswood shoot I asummed that it was local to Stobswood, nice countryside though. Mike
  8. I only live in Felton and I don,t recognise anywhere on the photo,s just goes to show one thinks he knows the area well, looks a great place for shooting the bunnies with a .22 as well. Lucky you. Mike
  9. I use 24 gn H335 powder with CCI benchrest primers, 55gr V max bullets, winchester cases. this gives me 2860fps from my Tikka t3 super varmit with 20" barrel. I find this to be very accurate, I use this for long range rabbits, foxes, and often take to range for target work. Regards Mike

  16. Have for sale a 3 gun cabinet with ammunition box bolted to the top, made by "Warmflow" and is BS7558 rated and has been in my house and inspected by the police, without any problem, reason for sale is, need bigger cabinet. A few rust spots on the cabinet but everything works as it should with 2 keys for each lock. Dimentions of cabinet are LxBxD =1340mm x 230mm x 195mm. Ammo box LxBxD = 170mm x 230mm x 170mm I live in the Morpeth/Alnwick area of Northumberland and asking £65 (no offers) buyer will have to collect as heavy. can't seem to load photo's so will email to anyone who asks. Mike Cabinet now on hold for Nick from Peterlee, pending inspection.
  17. The answer to this is YES you have to inform the firearms department as you are only allowed to keep as many guns as you have safe storage for. I come under the Northumberland Department and when I increased the capacity by adding another cabinet the FEO came out to inspect it and reported this information back, so that it is entered against my name, suspect that I would soon get another visit if I went over this max number. Rds Mike
  18. This is a photo of my truck as it came from the factory
  19. Hi. I am definatly interested, but I am in the Merchany Navy and work two months on two months off, so maybe not available for all the shoot dates, but would still like to join as I see it also includes pigeon shooting anytime which would suit me down to the ground, I don't know if you have "pigeon shoot only" members to help reduce the cost of the other members, might be worth thinking about. Grateful if you let me know as to any vacancies, as I should be home mid Feb, and live local -- Felton Thanks Mike
  20. PM sent regarding white choke (full)

    Golf course

If you do manage to get permission for a golf course, then just a word of warning, in that, there is usually public access either through or in close proximity to the course where members of the public may see you and report you to the police. I speak from experience, as I have two courses that I am allowed to shoot on with my .22LR, just last week I was spotted and heard shooting at a rabbit on one of my permissions, to which I must say I have a total legal right to be there, and was doing nothing wrong, the guy who heard me phoned the police and then an investigation had to be done, needless to say I came out squeeky clean and the bloke who reported me was actually found to be trespassing, although I do not think any action is to be taken against him. What I do is before I go shooting on the course is phone the police and inform them which course I am to be shooting that morning with the approximate times, they then give me a log number, I then phone back when I have finished to close the log number out, this proceedure was recommended by my firearms officer when they came to grant me my firearms ticket, and I have done it ever since. (Thankfully) One other tip that I do is carry a small digital voice recorder (about £20 on flea bay) to record any conversations that I have with any member of the public whilst out shooting, in case they phone the police later and say that they felt threatend by my presence or my atitude to them, as I suspect the first thing the police would do in a case like this is come and confiscate my guns and talk about it after, one has to remember, not all people are sympathetic to the shooting fraternity. Needless to say when I meet someone, which I have to say is rare as I always try and keep a low profile, and if I see someone will just stand behind a tree or bush until they have gone, but if you do get into conversation with someone then be extremly nice to them, no swearing etc, and just try and pacify them as they tend to have there angry heads one by then. I always carry a copy of both my SGC and FAC with me as well as copies of my written permissions, Hope this is of help, as we all want to avoid conflict with anyone while out pursuing our hobby. Mike
