  1. sorry mate , cant see no nit picking . only other peoples opinions, they might have quoted you but i dont think anyone is having a go, or pulling your thread to bits. Yeah, i was!!!
  2. There's a big difference here. Ex pats abroad fall into two main categories, having either made their money here and moved abroad to retire, buying a property and adding to their chosen country's economy, or, are suitably skilled and work in said country, often running their own business, employing local people and again adding to the economy. I very much doubt you will find many, if any, British ex pats relying on handouts and housing in foreign lands. The reason is simple, they'd get a better deal here, that's why so many immigrate here and play the system. The problem is it's so easy to play the system when there are so many civil rights lawyers and politicians showing them the way to do it!! I would also very much doubt the British who emigrate to a country will start to slag off it's culture, customs or religions, as i'm sure they would do a lot of 'homework' BEFORE upping sticks and moving, and would, therefore know exactly what they are letting themselves in for. Unfortunately a large proportion of people coming here seem to know more about our welfare system than our customs.
  3. Dunno where you get that from, they've been walking round here in unifom for as long as i can remember!! And quite rightly too in my opinion!!
  4. Listening to an interview with the local MP for Peterborough today it seems it's members of the local muslim 'community' who are the culprits. No suprise there then, the only surprise really is that a serving MP will actually come out on radio and tell it how it is. I'd like to see them try the same thing here when the para's are walking around town in uniform!!
  5. Look up Teague chokes, extended chokes for Bettinsoli's are £28.50 each. Pretty much any decent signwriter could knock you up some barrel decals. Hope this helps.

    Harry?

Like father, like son. Didn't his dad command a tank in the first Gulf conflict?
  7. I get 'Readers Wives'..............................just for the craic
  8. I could tell you..................... But then i'd have to kill you!!
  9. Sounds like someone looking for a place in the Essex Mafia Well i am from Essex
  10. Not sure if Richard Ford is coaching at mo, since he fell out of trap house at Parkford and broke his arm/elbow/shoulder!! (not sure which) Was a few weeks back so he may be ok, but haven't seen him at the club for a while.
  11. I used to repair windscreens, many years ago now, but same principles apply. It sounds to me like he hasn't left the resin in long enough to fill the cracks before curing. The resin is cured under a uv lamp, but sometimes if the repair is not shielded properly from the sun it can cure prematurely, before the resin has had a chance to completely fill any cracks. It sounds like a 'starburst' type of damage (as opposed to a 'bullseye' type) in which case he could have drilled the tips of each crack to stop them spreading under the pressure of the resin. At the end of the day you shouldn't see the damage from the inside of the car. It could, and probably should fail the MOT (depending on size and location). Hope this helps.
  12. Oh sorry...............................saw the title of the post and thought it was something completely different!!!!!
  13. What a bloody disgrace the air ambulance has to rely on charitable donations from the public to keep it in service. Looking at their figures it costs roughly £2 million to keep it going each year. A small sum in the grand scale of things, but considering the BILLIONS spent by this government (and to a lesser degree, the lottery fund) on asylum seekers health, housing and welfare, and all their other pet 'diversification' projects, it really is nothing short of a national disgrace. A HUGE WELL DONE TO EVERYONE INVOLVED IN LAST WEEKS SHOOT!!
  14. a brace of 23's ain't bad at all!! But there's no such thing as a bogey stand/bird in skeet. Last time out you had problems with stand 4 and 5 and yesterday stands 2 and 6. Therefore you can obviously hit all birds on all stands at some point, BUT, the skill comes in hitting them all in the same round. Its all down to concentration, i've hit a few straights and countless 23's/24's so i know i CAN do it, it's just being in the right frame of mind i reckon. I shot a few rounds of skeet yesterday and it was pretty windy which made for an interesting afternoon, but i dropped birds which i wouldn't normally do, but i could stand there and practice that particular target for ages until i could hit it with my eyes closed, but in different weather conditions/frame of mind etc it becomes a different target and i'd drop it again. I'm kinda waffling here but i guess what i'm trying to say is it's nowhere near as easy as some would have you believe. Certainly skeet/skeet, skeet/cylinder would help, 28g no.9 shells won't harm either. If you're hitting 23's with 1/2 and 3/4 you shouldn't have too much problem hitting a straight in the very near future with a more open set up. Good luck
  15. Excellent, well done those men!! Glad it was a good day too, can't wait to read the reports.
  16. 'fraid not, Sunday's the only day you can't shoot there. I was there yesterday afternoon, cold, wet and standing in puddles, but have to say i thoroughly enjoyed it!! Must be bloody mad.
  17. Just wondering what barrel length you guys use for shooting skeet. As a new shooter i get lots of different opinions from different people. I use a Browning B325 with 28" barrels choked skeet and cylinder. Does barrel length really make that much difference? Would be interesting to hear your opinions. Shot a few rounds at Parkford in St.Osyth yesterday, was very enjoyable and managed a couple of decent scores in the wind and rain!! Roll on summer! Any of you guys ever go there? I've been a few times, who knows i may have bumped into some you!!
  18. Hello everyone, just thought i'd pop on here and introduce myself!! My name's James and i've been shooting for a few months now. Have always wanted to 'have a go' and finally took the plunge a little while back and booked a few lessons. Best thing i ever did!!! I've only shot clays, mainly skeet, though i do have the occasional pop at sporting too. I've always been interested in shooting, conservation and the countryside in general, and am an avid birdwatcher too!! I'm looking at maybe joining a local wildfowling club too so any information would be great. I live nr Colchester so hopefully there should be a few clubs locally!! Looking forward to chatting soon, seems like a very friendly site!!
