Speed of Sound V's Velocity. Rimfire.

Recommended Posts

Often seen on many posts, phut & wait for the thud of the bullit strike.

So in theory if your rimfire silencer is "the best" a rabbit won't hear the gun go off & rum before the bullit hits home.

Have you ever thought what the rabbit does actually hear ?

Warning, contains images of shot, injured or dead fruit & vegetables.

If your a vegetarian you may be offended.

Speed of sound v's velocity of a subsonic Eley bullit.

looking at the vid and actually hearing the rifle sound and seeing the target struck from that end shows how fast bullets travel.

As for the rabbit hearing the gun go off and having time to react, no way.

For my money a moderator is used to keep the background noise down for the next rabbit on the list.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Sort of myth busting & thinking out loud.

I've seen many times the comment subs are slow & people thinking, as a shooter, there's a delay between the bang & the bullit strike.

Well, now they know different.

If the rabbit heard the shot, It's his mate who's going away for dinner.
