pigeon controller
DB had been out with his daughter on Friday looking for birds and found them on some bean stubble he shot a small field to congregate them on a larger field and picked up 32 just walking round. So saturday was an easy decision straight to the big bean stubble field. The wind was a real problem as we were in a valley and the birds found it difficult to fly forward into our patern they wanted to kite left and right. the pattern that worked was all as stand ups with no fliers or magnet. All with the heads low with tails up. we had a shower of rain at about 15.00 and this stopped the flow of birds but we had a good idea that we had a bumper day. We they the birds into a pile for the picture and then started the bag them up with seventy in a bag the fourth bag had seventy eight in it and we had twelve loose in the car for eating so in total exactly 300. In total we had driven 17 miles round trip from DBs house for three hundred birds what a great day!! When I returned home I had 332 on the garage floor chilling prior to putting them in the freezers and a friend of the wifes popped in and said how do you shoot so many when the bang from the gun scares them away??
