pigeon master
Hello fellas, I have a friend who is buying a gundog from a breeder, now they want it collecting at 7 weeks which I think is a little to early. My question is why would the breeder say that my friend won’t need the pedigree registration document for 4 months?? I’m confused as to why the breeder would say that. Sounds a bit strange to me as I was shown the parents pedigree family tree and given the documents and inoculations cert when I collected my springer Any help from the people in the know would be appreciated. Blackbart
As it costs money to reg them he will probably be waiting to get the cash for the pups before registering them(tight ***)or he is scamming and they arent pedigree. 955i
To be honest, if the paperwork didn't come with the pup I would walk, or expect to pay non-pedigree price with the remainder upon receipt of the documents.
Ozzy Fudd
it can take a few months for the paper work to get processed, so that might be it. but there should be no reason why you cant see the pedigree history and the parents papers. as for waiting to get the money to register them, i wouldnt go as far as calling him a tight *** blackbart - not sure if youve ever raised a litter of pups but when i did it it cost me almost £1500 between time off work, vets bills, puppy food, etc, so i know i was waiting to get a bit of money in before registering them; also theres no point registering pups that you cant sell (or have to let go cheap) so he's probably going to wait and see how many he sells off as pedigrees before registering them. I have raised pups before, several times and if i added them all up it wouldnt add up to that.I think if you have a good dog bred with another good dog they will sell so it isnt a risk registering them and you are going to get your money so really you should have the papers ready when they are. monkeyboots
it costs 12 quid a pup to kc reg i had mine kc reg at 2 weeks old so the paper work would be ready to go when the buyers came for the pups, i would be a bit iffy if i went to buy a pup and the papers wouldnt be avaiable there and then , but in saying that i bought 2 dogs a few years ago and had the papers posted to me once the seller had sold all the pups but i know a couple of people who have paid big money for a pup and they never recieved any papers they got caught in a scam
davecooper1
My opinion is no paperwork, no dog, simple as that.
pigeon master
Yeah, I have read a little about this today and it seems some breeders try this on and not send any papers. I know when I got my dog it was registered with the people at the address and both parents were with the pups. :( I have told her to walk away if the breeder gives her any excuse not to give her the registered document, its a kennels up in Consett Co Durham, i did a little google search and it seems a few customers have never had the paperwork through. Cheers lads for your views, I did think it was a bit strange as most adverts state KC Reg ESS, Labs..ect ect Its cant be sold as a pedigree if its got not docs I guess. :( The PM
