roost shooting

I was working this morning so me and dad decided to go and do abit of roost shooting this evening.

There were a few flying around but not as many as normal but then they have been pushed out of their woods all day because all the local farms were having their game shoots so the pigeons could not get into the woods to feed.

We tried 3 different woods over a couple of hours trying to get into the pigeons but it was not easy.

There was no wind and after a short while a cold mist moved in.

We finnished the shoot with 15 pigeons, 1 crow, 1 mag pie and 2 pheasents that were pushed over the wood from our neighbours shoot.

could you not get some lofters to attract some just on the edge of the wood or some decoys in the field boundries  :good:

We normally would but because we had to keep moving we did not bother with the lofters or decoys, we just walked round the woods shooting what ever came over
