Cookiemonsterandmerlin.
Had a good day on the rape today late start did not get to field till 0930hrs when I arrived 2/3 thousands birds feeding hard also alot in the willows and the pheasant feeding rides. Set up on the old canel about 2 clicks away is a foresty commision woodland the birds where flighting from . They came all day right upyto 1530hrs much like the other guy said in one of the postings. But the field was wet and I have not seen pigeons graze a feild so hard and so early n the year. Total for the day was 189 plus two crows which brings this weeks total to 482 pigeons. This nov is shaping up as one of the best I have had and still a few days to go. All the best

Cookiemonsterandmerlin.
The birds are still very locallized it would seem I had a very lean summer which is very strange I shot very little over rape stubble from may till late august I shot very few birds and then bang I have been regularly shooting over 100 bird bags. But the last two months have been great which it seems I will top 8000 birds mostly on my own . Mother in law llives in the new forest we was down there in early nov during the first gales and it was loaded with birds on acorns etc. All the best and hope you have some your way soon. mossy835
in the spring time this year, all the pigeons went from down here, and the summer shooting was not that good ,think they must have all gone up country but now there back down here, there are loads about again.so they must have come back down.getting some good bags now,
