Browning
On my way back from feeding the poults this morning I passed one of the local hunts getting ready to set out. Not sure wether they were cubbing or drag hunting but it was good to see them about again.
bobt
no they are just excercising the hounds as hunting would be naughty a local hunt only follows up on wounded foxes, after shooting in the air from 2 miles away,
Highlander
another daft bit of legislation...(almost) totally un-enforcible. Good b***** luck to them KEEP HUNTING. Unfortunately when they stop us shooting it might be more enforcible unless you fancy going up against the SAS alone!
henry d
Was in a hunting county this summer and coming off a hill me and Mrs.h were almost knocked over by a couple of hounds. We saw a lad with a single and a terrier later and asked if he`d lost a couple and he explained he was just exercising them.As one was well covered with claret I can summise that exercising is going well
chud
Good luck to them all for this season. Lets hope they get all the support they deserve, because if they manage to change this appauling bit of legislation, then we as shooters can hopefully rest a bit easier knowing that the fight to keep our countryside sports is working. wabbitbosher
I spoke to an Earl the other day (not wanting to name drop) while on a Foot "Excercise" (Hunt with hounds on leads) he said "ITs not a Ban its a temporary suspension!!! pete evans
another daft bit of legislation...(almost) totally un-enforcible. Good b***** luck to them KEEP HUNTING. Unfortunately when they stop us shooting it might be more enforcible unless you fancy going up against the SAS alone! i see shooters writing this more and more. The more people who predict and expect something to happen the greater momentum the idea generates. Shooting is only in danger if we become complacent and accept that sooner or later it will be banned. I for one feel shooting is becoming more popular and inclusive through possitive promotion and will develop a stronger possition pete
tenbears10
Not sure about that Pete. I was trying to find some info on something else the other day and came accross 2 home office reports one from 2000 and one from 2004 both suggesting measures ranging from making shot guns the same as other firearms and using the same control measures as rifles have now to the active prevention of issuing new shot gun certificates. There was mention that no one living in an urban area should have good reason to own a shot gun. No one under 18 should be allowed to even HANDLE a shot gun. One report was in the form of points to consider the other was much more forceful and most of the above were stated as clear recomendations. I tell you it scared the **** out of me. I will post links when I find the reports again so you can read for yourself.
