kyska
would i be able to legally shoot clays off the back of a boat into the sea? Yes. I only know this as I went on a trip doing just the same, and its great, getting windage, yaw, pitch and holdover to a degree of correctness! Pinkfooty
Remember that if the water is less than 6 metres deep, you will need to use non-toxic shot.

clayman
In international waters, blaze away. In coastal UK waters you need permission over water in exactly the same way as you do over land. Get permission of the "land" owner first - address your request to Buckingham Palace I think, and best of British luck in getting it, old boy
danny12w
i could be wrong here but i beleive the firearms act still applies on a boat registered in the UK and as such the firearm in question still has to be stored safely. i have heard of Royal Navy personnel doing this but the shotgun was stored in the magazines! could be completely wrong here though! Just read through the firearms act 1968 & think that everything i just said above is wrong!! Good sailor arent I!! Which is how punt gunners and wildfowlers are able to shoot from a boat. It is legal prviding no part of the boat is taouching the ground.
