Slug
So have you contacted this person and discussed this over the phone to try to resolve this problem ?.. It's best to talk to people first and it can usually be sorted rather than a public flogging..If I sold someone something I would expect the courtesy of a phone call to resolve it
milo2005
1st try giving it a good clean concentrate on the barrel port holes

BlaserF3
Can I say something even though I am no expert on Hatsan shotguns. A 3 1/2" magnum shotgun is designed to fire magnum ammo, if you want to fire 28gm shells buy an ordinary 2 3/4" or 3" shotgun. This forum has a lot of shooters asking what cartridge can I fire through brand X,Y,or Z. Buy a gun to match the type of cartridge that you use and I am sure that most of these problems would go away.

ph5172
Did you use the full 3 shot capacity.. ie, one in the chamber and 2 in the magazine? It seems to be a common fault on some brands of 3 1/2'' semis that because of the cycle timings both carts are released from the magazine at the same time. Try one in the chamber and one in the magazine. Try 3'' carts I assume you had 70mm clay carts with 3 loaded?
poorpeet
Is the O ring there and in good condition? As others have said, check it's clean and that the gas ports are clear. I have the 3" chambered model and so far it's cycled every thing I have put through it. That includes 21grm loads and 65mm carts. Did it chamber the second round but not fire when you pulled the trigger? Or did it fail to chamber the round? What carts were you using? dunc44
it chambered the second round then would not fire, tried up to a eley 2.3/4 AAA AND NO JOIY the lad i got it from contacted me today and apologized hes had a few personal problems and has said he will pay for repairs, he Sade he has not fired it for over 6 months. CZ550Kevlar
Hatsan 3 1/2" chambered semis are notorious for not cycling cartridges, they are designed to use at least 32gramme minimum carts to get them to cycle, I looked at one of these to give me flexibility but was warned away by my RFD due to this problem. As for not firing i would have to say poor storage routine or again not enough force to cycle it and push the bolt all the way back to recock the firing pin, if i`m not going to fire a gun for any length of time it still comes out every few weeks and gets cleaned and oiled. Imperfection
A 3 1/2" magnum shotgun is designed to fire magnum ammo, if you want to fire 28gm shells buy an ordinary 2 3/4" or 3" shotgun. Thats the most important bit. Even Hatsan themselves admit in their sales blurb the double magnum is for minimum 32gm cartridges, but it could also be dirty and just need a thorough clean. Little tip. When you clean the barrel-clean the gas vents afterwards with a piece of wire/cotton bud etc. When you swab the barrel it pushes muck and cleaning solvent into the two vents so just give em' a quick poke once done. CZ550Kevlar
Isn`t it a tiny bit strange the gun is 3 1/2 years old, the guy hasn`t fired it for 6 months and the edgar warranty is 3 years?
poorpeet
I think the 3 year warrenty is non transferable. So even if it was six months old the second owner wouldn't be covered.
dunc44
tried the peace of s...e out with a 42gran cartridge the heaviest the shop had and after the first shot the breech came back and stayed there never returned for 2nd cycle. Imperfection
don't think so but not 100% sure try it again tomorrow, thanks lads You'll see if the magazine cut off is on-the button will be flat instead of at an angle. Also, check the o ring for any splits etc.
