So have you contacted this person and discussed this over the phone to try to resolve this problem ?.. :hmm:

It's best to talk to people first and it can usually be sorted rather than a public flogging..If I sold someone something I would expect the courtesy of a phone call to resolve it

I'm not on here to bad mouth any 1 just wanted a gun that worked, i have left a message on his pm and no response at the end of the day i don't like being shafted or any 1 else

The RFD and you must have the sellers name and address ? I suggest you send a registered letter to him demanding a response...If he wont play ball...Well let us know

Can I say something even though I am no expert on Hatsan shotguns.

A 3 1/2" magnum shotgun is designed to fire magnum ammo, if you want to fire 28gm shells buy an ordinary 2 3/4" or 3" shotgun.

This forum has a lot of shooters asking what cartridge can I fire through brand X,Y,or Z.

Buy a gun to match the type of cartridge that you use and I am sure that most of these problems would go away.

Firstly what shells are you using secondly is the gas ram system clean and I mean spotless I have found anything below 67mm doesnt cycle well in the hatsan

oh yea as a above would be nice to the seller too :hmm:

Before we all jump n the sellers case should the above questions not be answered as I suspect It is a simple fix and no more

Did you use the full 3 shot capacity.. ie, one in the chamber and 2 in the magazine?

It seems to be a common fault on some brands of 3 1/2'' semis that because of the cycle timings both carts are released from the magazine at the same time.

Try one in the chamber and one in the magazine.

Try 3'' carts

I assume you had 70mm clay carts with 3 loaded?

Is the O ring there and in good condition? As others have said, check it's clean and that the gas ports are clear. I have the 3" chambered model and so far it's cycled every thing I have put through it. That includes 21grm loads and 65mm carts.

Did it chamber the second round but not fire when you pulled the trigger? Or did it fail to chamber the round? What carts were you using?

Hatsan 3 1/2" chambered semis are notorious for not cycling cartridges, they are designed to use at least 32gramme minimum carts to get them to cycle, I looked at one of these to give me flexibility but was warned away by my RFD due to this problem. As for not firing i would have to say poor storage routine or again not enough force to cycle it and push the bolt all the way back to recock the firing pin, if i`m not going to fire a gun for any length of time it still comes out every few weeks and gets cleaned and oiled.

Thats the most important bit. :good:

Even Hatsan themselves admit in their sales blurb the double magnum is for minimum 32gm cartridges, but it could also be dirty and just need a thorough clean.

Little tip.

When you clean the barrel-clean the gas vents afterwards with a piece of wire/cotton bud etc. When you swab the barrel it pushes muck and cleaning solvent into the two vents so just give em' a quick poke once done.
