turbo33
Chatting to a friend today who is looking for the best air rifle he can get within his budget of £200. Pcp's obviously out of his range,so its a springer. Can I have some feedback with ideas and also if there is anything out there for sale. Ideally .177 and with enough ft lbs to deal with bunnies and pigeon on his fathers smallholding. Thanks in advance.
Ali-C
Fixed or break barrel? Fixed barrel: AA TX200 HW97K Break barrel: HW80 HW95 (if you're looking for something a little lighter) HW98 (same action as the 95 but has an adjustable stock and a shrouded barrel, heavyer than the 95, lighter than the 80) I would reccommend any of these, but they may not suit you, have a good look at them and try to have a few shots with them, to see wether you like them or not. amateur
Don't dismiss CO2 rifles - perfectly OK for rabbits & pigeons and considerably cheaper than pcp's
soreshoulder
Don't dismiss CO2 rifles - perfectly OK for rabbits & pigeons and considerably cheaper than pcp's although buying CO2 can cost more in the long run than investing in a stirrup pump  anything air arms or weirauch or bsa - keep away from the cheaper firms like the SMK's

Ali-C
although buying CO2 can cost more in the long run than investing in a stirrup pump And they are inconsistant as the pressure inside the C02 capsual varies hugely with temperature, changing the power. Egg
HW80, 77, 95 (if you're lucky to get one at that price.) You'll be toiling to get a good 97 or 98 below £200 though.
