It seems to vary from area to area.

A lot of our woods are inaccessible for guns, as they are on private land owned by cement companies, or woodland trusts.

 

William, the balloons idea sounds interesting. ;)

I,ve never seen a pigeon die laughing.   :)

 

I,ve found the lack of other guns, to be more than adequately compensated for, if the wind is really blowing.

This seems to disorientate the birds and they will go round and round the wood, until they can get in.

 

No wind = Few birds.  :(

yeah ill be going out roost shooting this weekend, i went last weekend but me and my mate shot really bad, but there was a lot of pigeons about.

i agree with cranfield if its windy they will keep coming in, don't go if its not windy. ;)  :)
