death from below
My car is starting to smelll of a watery rubber smell. It doesn't do it all the time and the missus reckons it gets worse when she goes around corners(!!!). I've checked the oil but that's about as far as my car knowledge stretches. the temp gauge stays normal and the motor doesn't seem to over heat. Any ideas please. Paddy Galore!
has the rubber band slipped off the giggle pin?
COACH
Yep! rubber bands come off, giggling pins come out and gone straight through the shoo-shoo valve. Classic case.
Paddy Galore!
might be a damaged shock absorber, rubbing on the inside of the tyre wall, had a ford capri with a broken spring did this and eventually burst the tyre. check the inside of your tyre walls... COACH
No seriously, my son had a similar thing lately. He found that the track rod arm I think he said was bent after sliding in the snow up against a pavement. Every time he went round a roundabout /corner etc he could smell rubber because the tyre was just touching the bodywork under the wheel arch. Just check to see if you can see a scuff mark and bare metal any where. It might be the same.
