Blackbart
I have a spaniel pup that is being a tad naughty when she knows no one is around. She isnt barking but she is howling like a banshee and it is starting to cause problems with the neighbours. can anyone recommend one and do they work with howling and not barking ? jimmyb79
I used this one for when my lab was doing something similar as a pup: LINK Worked well whilst he wore it and it certainly stopped his howling when crated.

pavman
My pup is a tad under 5 months and i do the same as i did the big one... jug of cold water, no matter what time am or pm if they start creep out to the pen and hit them with the water, no words just water and walk away... it causes no pain and they soon get the message... if i bark dad thinks i want a cold shower... it dont take many times till they cotton on. Of course you can only do it when you are there but stick with it as it works!
rimfire4969
I used one of these on spray types on a dog i had about 10 years ago. In those days the refills were expensive and it did not work that well with her, but we always had a lemon scented house when we got back in. Training takes time and effort anti bark collars and electro collars are in my opinion just tools for people looking for the easy way out of proper training. Spend more time training and less looking for quick solutions.

And if you have a master plan for training it when i am not at home and the dog is, then feel free to enlighten me Pav's water swill is what i have always used and it has always worked but as i havent finished its kennel yet i dont think the missus would be too impressed with me flooding the hall with a bucket of water 4 or 5 times a day and again it is pretty hard to do when you are not there. Hodge911 has kindly lent me a "quick solution" otherwise known as a training collar so i will see how i get on with it.Thanks for the replies. p-a-s
blackbart.i dont know the full story but you say its a pup,if you put the pup in a crate whilst you out or busy and it cries/whines for a pee etc your going to end up with a dog that messes in the crate cos its going to be afraid to get your attention.if its not in a crate, sorry, ignore my post
Blackbart
She is in a crate at the minute but she doesnt cry to be out,but i see what you mean. Hopefully when the weather gets a bit better i will get the run finished and she will be outside, maybe with another springer pup(and they can howl together )
