kev 1
A mate of mine is trying to trap a fox,he has a trap cage, which when he ,takes the bate it triggers the door to close, but it takes all the bait apart from the one that is tied to the trigger,i suggested to tie a few more to it, he seemed happy to try it,have you any better suggestions? stubby
only fix one piece of bait inside, to the trigger, works for me, normally use the **** end of a rabbit, the more rotten the better

jef
As it's been said before, foxes are anything but daft! I've never managed to catch an adult fox in my cage traps just foolish cubs. JF
bignoel
i only use the pedal traps which catches them easy never tried the trigger set up before they are real cunning not stupid at all .
Dekers
I use live fox traps and the results are very mixed, it's taken me 3 months before to get a ****** in, and yes, they take bunnies all the way up to the trigger plate but leave that one...**** me they can drive me mad, they are not stupid!! Frankly, given the option I bait and shoot, tends to be a quicker solution!
Paul223
wedge the door open and bait for a few days or a week until the fox gets confident and takes the bait regularly, then set the door only use one piece of bait and may be a dribble of stinky kipper oil Edited March 14, 2010 by Paul223
