Windy
got a slab of Rotweill Special 12F 32/6 (UK 5.something?).....very nice cart, but prolly not in the cheap bracket. Also really liked the Fiocchi SP32. imho, for what its worth.....unless your buying thousands, the difference between carts by the slab is just a few quid. Guest cookoff013
i did some pricing, handloading isnt the way to go. price of components are way more expensive. cheapest i priced up is 1oz #6. is £150 /1000 (minus the powder.) 200 with the powder and hazmat fees. the biggest cost would be the lead (£37 for 10kg). sourcing cheap lead... you`d be quids in. fibre is the same price. bu66er ! fieldwanderer
Got some eley hb pigeon of fenny on here in the end. I've used them before and found them to be good but usually a bit more expensive than I want. Top bloke to deal with anyway (dunno if he's got any more though) and I've got enough to last me a good 4-6mnths - sadly no pigeons to shoot them at on my permision nowerdays but I've got them all the same Edited February 9, 2010 by fieldwanderer
tikka tom
I do tend to stay clear of Gamebore cartridges as I always seem to end up with a bruised cheek. Nothing else does it only Gamebore. haha i had some gamebore pure gold 28grm i went 2 skool next day and evry 1 was saying who smaked u but they were still good carts
George1990
Never had a problem with gamebore myself. In fact Clear Pigeons are one of my favourite cartridges And not over expensive - around £50. Got a fairly good price on Hull Special Pigeon 32g fibre at £54/250. Most expensive I've used but they're nearer £60 now. They are very very nice to shoot though which makes up for the price. HB Pigeon are next on the list. Used a load of Fiocchi PL32 number 5 and didn't get on with them. Thinking about it they are probably an English No. 4! could be the reason. Spaniel
I was down at Sportsman Exeter yesterday (as you do when you are in the area) and they had Eley 7s think they were Fibre for £137 per 1000 and he said that the prices will be going up again shortly. Think he did have kents down there but they sold out by the Thousand very quickly
miroku50
Got some itailian 28 gram 6 (smni) at Malmo guns yesterday for 140 thousand used to shoot these years ago they were awesome!
activeviii
been using Prima 28gr 7 for the close decoy stuff and 30gr 6 clear pigeon for the roost or walk around stuff. the Primas are £125 per K from glos gun company, so i just keep my shooting short and they drop the birds nicely with no more runners than a 32 would give. UKPoacher
Just been to Gilsan Sports at Richmond and asked for the cheapest felt wad 6's they had. Walked out with a slab of Gamebore Pure Gold 32g for fifty quid. Can't grumble at that given that they are a lot more than that at Just Cartridges. UKPoacher
I thought £50 was expensive? I'm going by the prices on Just Cartridges. £48 plus delivery for 250 is the cheapest for number 6's there. My mate has been getting me bin ends to use while I got my own certificate. He reckons they cost him about forty quid a slab, but they can be anything from 5's to 7's. Last time I bought cartridges on my old certificate they were about forty quid a thousand

John_reloader
Can someone please recommend some 12g cart's for me? I've been using r/c competition 28g 6s but I don't like them, I don't seem to hit much with them. My last slab were rio 30g 6s and I got on a lot better with them. What I'm after is as cheap as possible 32g 5-6-6.5 or possibly 7s, I know they're just getting more and more expensive but any good cheap 12g pigeon cart's will do. Reloads for me - just got to invest some money, time and effort in the equipment and make your own shot.
