Klunk
The 10/22 is the VW Golf* of guns. There's loads out there, for one good simple reason - because they're good enough for most people. Some like to keep 'em standard, others prefer to customise, but that's just a matter of personal taste. I realise this post isn't going to help anyone make an informed choice between a 10/22 or anything else, but there we are. I like mine. (* Other medium-priced family hatchbacks also available)
Vince Green
Out of the box Ruger barrels can be variable. Some are very good some less so. Its not a problem though because custom barrels are quite cheap. Its not intended as a match rifle so you have to work within the limitations. Every barrel on every rifle will shift its point of impact when it heats up through rapid fire and the steel plate boys need a heavier barrel to dissipate the heat. Ozzy Fudd
as much as i love them id never advise anyone to get a 10/22 as a first gun, too much that will can wrong and leave you tearing your hair out but once you have a bit of expierience of .22lrs ,learn how to handle the gun properly and what ammo it likes/dislikes then you'll never look back

Ozzy Fudd
Well Its a lot heavier than my cz!! I notice you didnt disagree with the other statements lol. i woudlnt disagree mate, and ive said it before, til i found the right ammo mine constantly jammed and couldnt hold a decent group, and i freely admit it. but i still remember the feeling i got when i finally found the right ammo, learnt the ranges and holdovers, and its limitations - just felt like everything clicked into place

Evil Elvis
When i saw the first picture i was suprised that considering where you are ffrom that they would let you have something so "para military" looking!!!!
Ozzy Fudd
When i saw the first picture i was suprised that considering where you are ffrom that they would let you have something so "para military" looking!!!! funny story that - if id applied for one of those mp5 or ak47 .22lr clones i wouldnt have had a chance of getting it unless it was only being used at a range, but because on the 10/22 i just changed the stock theres not a problem with it - i think the term people use is "loophole" but i put the standard stock back on last year - firstly its alot better balanced with the standard stock on it (compared to the ones i'd had) and secondly things are hotting up a good bit over here again
gixer1
10p sized groups at 100 yards maybe. c'mon, someone's tellin porkies, i'd like to see that done consistantly with subs and a 10/22 in bog standard form... I've had both (the 10/22 was only kept a couple of weeks) my opinions are - 10/22 = clunk, clunk, clunk......B**stard! (as it jams) Cz = pst, pst, pst pst, pst, pst, pst, pst, pst (although they do have a problem with stuck empties when they are new.... gixer1
Not at all, Some of us can shoot and some can't some can shoot the **** too...... to be hitting consistantley with wind drift etc at this range with a sub-son .22LR on a target the size of a 10p is highly unlikely... Check out the drop! http://www.gunsmoke.com/guns/1022/22ballistics.html
MC
The bullseye on a British Match Target isn't much bigger than a 10p and I know several people who can consistently put 10 shots through the bullseye at 100 yards. And that is freehand using a sling and open sights. On a bipod and scope it should be a piece of **** The drop from 50 to 100 yards is about 7". As I said Some people can shoot and some can't
